The recipe for buns has been checked many times.

Dough:

Egg - 1 pc. + water = 1.25 cups (cup-230ml.)
Wheat flour - 4.25 cups
Sugar - 0.5 cups
Salt - 2 tsp.
Powdered milk - 2 tbsp. lies.
Vegetable oil - 5 tbsp. lies.
Yeast - 2.5 tsp.

It cannot be too greasy. You don't need less yeast - it's baking. What yeast did you use? Check yourself again, did you do everything right?

Saf-Levure must first be diluted with water. Use active dry yeast.
Maybe a problem with the cup? The indicated cup is 230 ml.

I did these buns many times and experimented. They can only be lubricated with a beaten egg, but while for me they turn out a little dry and not so sweet, but you can water them (drain oil, powder and vanillin). And about dry. milk, you can not add it to the dough at all, it has been verified from personal experience.

today I decided on one more option. the fact is that in our city in one cafe they make sooooo delicious pretzels with cottage cheese, I looked on the Internet, I did not find a similar recipe, I decided to try to make these same buns with cottage cheese and orange peel. I will say without undue modesty - it is very tasty, but this, of course, is for lovers of cottage cheese and zest, so, I took the zest of a third of an orange, blend it, added 400 g of cottage cheese,50 grams of butter (we buy low-fat cottage cheese) and 5 tablespoons of sugar, blasted everything well, put cottage cheese on the rolled dough, rolled it up, cut it, the buns were very well spaced (they had enough time while I laid the child), and as a result it turned out 15 huge splashes, next time I will divide the dough in half, 24 pieces will come out one small flaw, the zest, it seemed to me, is a bit too much, one fifth - one fourth is enough, if you are not sure, then it is better to put less. I attach a photo (my sister took the camera away, so I took a photo with the phone)
