Omelette in a double boiler

Ingredients

Egg 1 PC
Milk 50 ml
Salt taste

Cooking method

  • An omelet prepared in this way is very tasty, plump, without liquid. And the taste is very intense.
  • Preparation:
  • In a bowl, stir the eggs and salt (I do this with a fork). It is to mix, not beat (we have already discussed this topic in the topic about "That same omelet"). There should be no foam, but maybe only a couple of small bubbles. Now add milk and stir again.
  • Now pour the mass into a greased mold. Be sure to cover the molds with foil - this also drastically affects the taste, like unbeaten eggs.
  • We put to steam for 20 minutes.
  • The omelet does not rise during cooking, so you can pour it into larger tins. Before cooking, you can add any additives you like.
  • In the photo, an omelet of 2 eggs, cooked in a regular porcelain bowl.

Time for preparing:

20 minutes

Qween Made your recipe omelet today. It was too lazy to get a large double boiler, so I did it in a multicooker. Here's what happenedOmelette in a double boilerOmelette in a double boiler During cooking it rose well (?), Cooked for 20 minutes. + 10 more because it was still "alive". While I was going to take a picture of an omelet donkey (1-2 sec.) It looks more like not an omelet, but a soufflé, it can be seen where the pieces are. Very gentle, too gentle! In the microwave, I get the same portion much denser. It tastes more like boiled eggs and has a very strong egg smell! I stood for a couple of minutes and some water appeared at the bottom. What did you do wrong? In my opinion, 50 ml of milk per 1 egg is a lot. I have 150 ml of milk for three eggs. I didn’t beat the eggs, but simply loosened it with a fork. Is there too much steam in the multicooker? It turned out well, very dietary, except for the pepper that I added

Pinky, I made an omelet in a multicooker steamer, though I did not cover it with a film. So it turned out the way you describe. We didn't even finish it.

And I still wanted to try such an omelet, but somehow it didn't work out ...

Now I will know that there is no need to torture a cartoon.

But there is no real double boiler.

And the girls on the site "Multrvarka" highly praise the omelet, cooked in the cartoon. Could there be a difference in the selected mode? They cook an omelet at the "Pastry".

afnsvjul, on Baking I did (both simple and with fillings) I just wanted to try it in a steamed bowl.

For how many years I have been preparing an omelet in a cartoon on baking and here it has been written about this many times. Just someone tries, someone does not ... but I like

I just can't make an omelet. Now I will definitely do it in the near future

Qween Is there too much steam in the multicooker?

maybe the difference between an omelet in a classic steamer and in a multicooker is that in a steamer the lid is domed and the liquid (I don’t know how to say it correctly, the condensate probably) flows back into the pan with water, and in the slow cooker the lid is flat - all the water or into the omelet or if you cover the omelet with a film - maybe he does not have enough "air" to breathe.

somewhere on the forum, the principle of rolling water from steam in a double boiler back into a pan with water was discussed.

in a classic double boiler, even I did it the first time.
true, poured milk "by eye"

made an omelette today according to your recipe in a tefal double boiler, 2 eggs + 100 ml of milk, green onions, did not salt at all
I poured it into a container, covered it with a film and put it on for 20 minutes .. did not grease with oil
After 20 minutes, a wonderful omelette was obtained, only when taken out of the container its beautiful image slightly collapsed
Very tasty, plump, there was no excess liquid, I provide a photo report:
