Oh, what a lovely chestnuts
on our website, I have not seen any recipes with chestnuts.

How do you eat them? We have so many of them growing, but how to cook them?
dopleta
In fact, they grow in the Krasnodar Territory, and in Abkhazia, and in the Baltic States. In any case, they are taken to us from there. Sold in supermarkets and markets - in the same place as nuts. They are also sold ready-made in canned food and in vacuum packages. Outwardly, edible chestnut differs from inedible (horse) chestnut with a sharp nose. Inedible - more beautiful, shiny, juicy brown (like the skin of a well-groomed horse), slightly bumpy. I love chestnuts since childhood! It is necessary to chop the shell with a sharp knife and either fry it on a baking sheet or boil it for 10 minutes. The former are better for my taste.

And I literally today for the FIRST time saw chestnuts on sale and was puzzled, why are they, a lot of sprouted, you can cook from them or not take them. I have to buy a cupcake and try this one.

Well, with the roll, everything is more or less clear, it also needs Japanese tea. But I read the workpiece .. they first soak the chestnuts in vinegar, like, then boil (?) And then cook with sugar, like .. the translation is also not very clear, they have so much written there that it seems very difficult, but in fact everything can be simple

Hello everyone! I saw that you are interested in chestnuts, I also bought recently, and the girls gave me a link 🔗
See if it comes in handy. I did just that. Delicious. I made the cream in a roll, just chopped it with a blender and beat it with condensed milk.
They also advised to store it in the refrigerator, they say that it can be stored for up to six months.

I already wrote somewhere that in the season I buy ~ 5 kg-mov, store it first on the balcony, then put it in the refrigerator. And be sure to dry them periodically. If stored improperly, they quickly rot. I cook a lot with them - and hot dishes, and pastries, and snacks, and just fried like nuts. It's just now ending. But I never saw the sprouted in the spring. And I probably wouldn't have bought it ... I can't imagine them fried.

doplet, thanks, and I won't buy them, for some reason a sprouted onion comes to mind, which I definitely would not buy. Although, I wonder, but if you stick it into the ground, what will grow ...

Krosh, absolutely sure that you can! Moreover, not necessarily specifically in this recipe. After all, we bake so many different cupcakes with the addition of different jams. Of course, use it, there's nothing to lose (I don't think I would have liked this jam either).
