Cooking method

1. Pour water into a baking dish. If your bread maker's instructions tell you to put yeast into the bread maker first, simply reverse the order in which you add dry and liquid ingredients to the bread maker. Pour in flour so that the liquid is completely covered. Add sugar and salt to different corners of the bread maker. Make a small indentation in the middle of the flour, missing water, and add yeast. Put the bread maker in the "Dough" mode. Press the "Start" button.
2. When the dough is kneaded, turn off the bread maker, leaving the dough inside. Do not lift the lid of the bread maker. Leave the dough in the machine for 8-10 hours. If necessary, transfer to a bowl, cover with a damp towel and set aside.
3. Then add to the egg mold, add flour. Add sugar, salt and melted butter to different corners of the bread machine. Select the "Dough" mode again and press "start". Grease a baking sheet with oil.
4. When the dough is kneaded, take it out of the bread machine and place it on a floured surface. Hit the dough, flatten it to a thickness of 2.5 cm. Using your palms, gently roll the dough into a rope with tapered edges. Roll up 3 "ropes". Pluck the ends of the three "ropes" and braid them into a braid. Cover with a towel and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled. I use proofing in the oven at 45 grams. With convection on - 40 min.
5. Preheat oven to 190 ° C. In a bowl, beat egg yolk with milk for icing. Brush the challah mixture. Sprinkle evenly with poppy seeds and bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer to wire rack.
