Bread Maker Kenwood BM450

People! Happy New Year to all and welcome to the ranks of those eager to buy a bread machine !!!
Here is the choice between the much-touted and much-discussed Panasonic SD 255 and the new Kenwood model.
Has anyone heard of her?
Help me please. Panas is very confused by the increased noise during cooking, which has been mentioned more than once on this site.
In general, if anyone has any thoughts on this matter, please write as soon as possible, it’s too painful for the new year to want to get a stove !!!

Join the ranks of Kenwood BM450 owners Purchased two days ago through the online store. The model is new. There is already a Rostest certificate in the warranty card, but so far only the user's manual has been translated into Russian, and colorful booklets with recipes ... as many as two were included in the box ... in French and Italian I had to download a recipe book in Ukrainian, and at the same time look in English.
At the same time, we bought an electronic scale to be sure of accuracy.
We baked in the oven twice so far - wheat bread according to the main recipe and Darnitsky bread according to Fugaski's recipe. Pshenichny was a success, but Darnitsky's roof collapsed, which did not prevent us from eating the loaf with gusto. I think that the problem arose due to the fact that there was an excess of moisture; less liquid should have been added. Well, let's experiment.
I would like to know which recipes from BM350 are suitable for the 450th, and what subtleties should be paid attention to.
Here is our first experience of wheat baking, successful.

any recipes will work, just observe the flour / liquid ratio and determine the size

Thank you! I am just starting to use the bread maker, so I am not upset because of the mistakes, but I continue to study the forum and improve
By the way, Darnitsky was set for the night, with a delay of 5 hours. Maybe you shouldn't have done this, but started baking right away?
fugaska
it is best to put used recipes on the timer, for one hundred percent result

Answering a letter from an interested baker, I decided to publish my answer to him, maybe someone else will be useful.
Hello to you too!
We are also beginners as bakers, there is nothing to compare with. In any case, in the absence of closed doors, at night the sound from the kitchen ... how can I express this? Unusual and irregular. You can't call it particularly loud, but it inspires, inspires. We set the bake delay so that we got hot bread for breakfast, so the whole kneading cycle took place around 4 in the morning. Everyone woke up except the first grader. With blissful expressions on their faces, they moved to look at the process. Having found out that the sounds did not threaten the collapse of structures, they fell asleep further, not knowing that the main test was still ahead. An hour before getting up, the bread began to bake. The smell penetrated every nook and cranny of our den, forcing us to turn on the hood and open the windows, despite the frost in the environment.
Automation works, the raisins, the solids fall asleep without problems. What is annoying is the lack of factory settings for baking rye and Borodino bread. You will have to program one of the user modes, for which you need to gain experience. There are five programmable modes, so let's hope. Total:
1. wheat bread bakes with a bang!
2. With the addition of rye flour, bran and other things, the result is highly dependent on experience.
3. Cupcakes are baked regularly, even from ready-made semi-finished products, although it is all the same easier to mix with a mixer.
4. The jam is fantastic.

kinski, My friends have a 350 stove and the recipes are different. it is necessary to correctly correlate all the proportions. since I'm still new to this business, I would like to get rid of unnecessary problems (I'm not sure that I can calculate everything exactly). Therefore, I ask you to share the original Ukrainian version (I know for sure that it exists!)

Yes, wheat bread according to the recipe from the "native" Kenwood recipe book is going with a bang, but with Darnitsky I had to suffer. After two unsuccessful baking experiments Darnitsky from Fugaska (in both cases, the dome of bread fell off), she was finally able to adapt this recipe to Kenwood BM450 by reducing the amount of vegetable oil. For a standard loaf 750 gr. you need to add 1 tbsp. spoon of oil.
Here's the beauty
Bread Maker Kenwood BM450
By the way, the "Backlight" function, designed to control the baking process and backlight the display, works mainly on the display, and in the oven itself it turns on only a limited number of times in certain stages of mixing The backlight in the oven does not turn on at the very beginning of the batch, during the whole the baking process and practically throughout the entire lifting stage.

The English site has already been viewed - it is difficult to understand the descriptions of the preparation. And the link to the Ukrainian recipe does not work (to my deep regret). Perhaps someone has already managed to translate. If yes - I will be very grateful, no - share at least the Ukrainian translation. Thank you in advance!
The recipe book in Ukrainian can be downloaded here

The instructions say that the "Backlight" function is designed to turn on the light both in the oven itself and to illuminate the display. And, unfortunately, this button lights up the display much more often. Do you and I have different ovens?
Aiast
Just checked it - the backlight works in any mode! So .... It looks like they are really different!
Qween
Yeah, different. Like the Kenwoods 350
And I was hoping ...

Hello. My dough mixer has a hole for pushing onto the shaft, which is clearly larger than the shaft. It does not scroll, but noticeably dangles, rotates 15 degrees. Is it the same for you, or is it an individual feature?
Pelaga
Hello everyone!!!
I also want to buy such an oven ... I've been sitting for a week now ... I've abandoned everything ... well, it seems like I've grown thin ... only here are a few crows ... if it's not difficult ...
The menu on the display is not in Russian? ??? And how does this not really interfere with working with her?
If you turn on the stove at night, does it interfere with sleep? the noise how?
Will she pull the tough dough? for dumplings ... for this it is important which tech. stove characteristic ... engine power or what? ...
....
Thanks in advance...
quit123
1 digital menu. everything is available even to a baby. so to speak, pictures.
2 put for the night - it interferes with sleep, but if you close the door like nothing
3 any dough will pull
fugaska
the sound of the stove is much quieter than the sound of a working washing machine (modern, of course, an automatic machine)
if you go to sleep next to her, then of course the sound will interfere, but with the doors closed, nothing will disturb your sleep
By the way, my children do not wake up either from a working stove, or from a working washing machine, or from a working microwave, or from the squeaking sounds that all this equipment makes, my husband also sleeps sweetly, although we have no doors in our apartment, well, in sense of a room and a kitchen without doors, wall to wall!
I don't take myself into account - I always sleep like a dead woman, it's very difficult to wake up

Yesterday I bought a 450 instead of Moulinex XXL. Moulinex ordered to live long after four weeks of unstressed work. The refusal is typical, as I understood from the forum, I stopped kneading the dough. I didn’t risk it and bought Kenwood. My impressions are as follows: Moulinex pleased me with the opportunity to bake my own bread, ease of operation, convenience, the shape of the loaf. But Kenwood pleased, pleased! The solidity of the machine is felt in everything, very simple and pleasant control, the ability to create your own programs !!! (up to 5 pieces)
For example Borodinsky, which is in Moulinex, here you can program and save it yourself to your liking. No more noise than Moulinex (not much). That is, the noise is typical for this kind of technology.
Design, performance is beyond praise. Real steel bakery machine. :-)
And Moulinex will go to the dacha after the repair. For the device is also not bad and quite working, but simple as a felt boot, and felt boots have a place in the country :-)
Pelaga
Thank you very much for the answers ... even laughing ... about the original noise. .. of course I won't sleep on it ... but I sleep lightly ... my maternal instinct torments me ... for every rustle ... well, in general, I understand ... it makes noise like everyone else ...
??? Also help me figure it out ... I almost pressed the order button ... when I suddenly saw the difference in weight and size on different sites ...
like a trifle but still ...

technopark
Dimensions (WxHxD): 390x320x235 mm
- Length of email cable: 900 mm
- Weight: 7 kg

...
Dimensions (HxWxD) 31.5 x 38.5 x 23.5 cm
Weight 9.5 kg

technical port
Weight: 9.5 kg
Dimensions (WxHxD): 385x235x315 mm

difference by 5 cm and 2.5 kg ...
and then they talked about different backlighting ... someone just illuminated the display .. and someone is fine and a bucket too ... for any request ...
and another question ... the window in the picture is striped ... is that so ... or is it a simple oval? ...
Amber57
backlight both inside and display, striped window, size comparable to Moulinex XXL, a couple of fingers higher. Essno heavier because of stainless steel. But in general, all this is garbage :-) the main thing is "you take it in your hands - you sweep a thing" :-)
Pelaga
I just don't understand why there is such a difference in size for one model? ... can someone explain ...
what is your ... which is 7 or 9.5? ..
and the height is truly different, or 315 (320) or 235 .... respectively, and the depth changes .... or is it just a typo on the site?
Amber57
Height 32 cm + 2 cm handle.
Length 39 cm, width 24 cm

A big plus of this stove is that the cover and dispenser can be easily removed.

This stove has the ability to add 5 custom programs.
And in general, one gets the feeling that it was created after having read the wishes on this site about the ideal bread maker.

Well done guys on the Kenwood website, posted! Until recently, there was no recipe book in Russian.
Pelaga
Thanks for the book! ... The stove is really beautiful !!!!! I've already baked two bread ... it turned out not perfect ... but I realized my mistakes ... I will continue to experiment ... about I will make sourdough ...
I would like to do something like that by the eighth and at the same time cook it up for my birthday ... maybe someone has an interesting recipe that has already been tested on this stove ...

Darnitsky was baked many times according to Fugaski's recipe, it does not always work out perfectly: the dome falls off. It seems to me that in 450th you need to put a little less yeast than provided for in the recipes. In any case, by reducing the amount of yeast, I managed to achieve the perfect loaf both in Darnitsky and in wheat according to the recipe from the instructions for the oven itself
Rita
Put not dry, but compressed yeast, then the result will always be perfect. And such bread is healthier.
For example, for simple wheat bread, I use 5 g of pressed yeast per 400 g of flour, 250 ml of water, sugar, salt to taste, 15 g of butter.

I'm not a baker yet, I'm just going to become one, so I ask for advice. I was going to buy a programmable Delonghi BDM 125 S, did not find it, but today I saw it in a Kenwood BM450 store and was confused. I would like to know if the BM450 has the ability to adjust the process during the preparation of the dough, change the duration and temperature at individual stages?
I want to congratulate all the young ladies on the HOLIDAY OF SPRING! Good luck and love to YOU!
Rita
rossych,
I myself have not yet used this function yet, but the instructions do not say anything like that. To write a new program, you need to change some of the existing ones in advance, and load it into memory.

But Kenwood is made of much better quality - the bucket is inserted without these creepy clamps, which just look so as not to crack, but as in Panasonic - by a simple turn in the bottom.

And the appearance! I'm for Kenwood!

Thank you for your congratulations and wishes!
rossych
Rita, in Delonghi BDM 125 S, if something went wrong (thin dough, for example) you can stop the cycle, add flour, adjust the time and continue. Can Kenwood do the same. For inexperienced bakers and experimenters, this will come in very handy.
If I could see the instructions!
Pelaga
the temperature is not regulated ... if you want to correct something ... then this can be easily done during kneading ... add flour, etc. ... this is also the first time I use the stove ... there is no experience at all .. . and I am very pleased with the choice ... convenient in form ... the menu is successful ... simple ... disp enser ... backlight .... cor pus made of stainless steel ... but in general, after reading the forum ... I realized that you need to choose according to your liking ... any oven bakes well ... and choose small bells and whistles ... that the oven has ... for example, I made a choice in favor of a dispenser. .programming ... in a simple form .... I also compared Delongee .. Bork and Kenwood ... I chose Kenwood ... though the glass is on top of the stove and it is not known how it will behave upon impact ... and I even exchanged for a new one (I recommend the technopark online store ... they even wear shoe covers .... our pediatrician doesn’t do it ..) because of the cover ... it seemed to me it was made unevenly along the body ... the second one seems to be better ... and for some reason the bucket is not ideally parallel to the walls ... it can be like that for everyone .. I don't know ... well, in general, it's just more and there is nothing to complain about .... and the recipe book is not in Russian ... here is a Russian version posted on the forum ... in general, what the soul lies for ... and take that ... you will be satisfied in any case ...

Did you bake sweets? cupcakes? charlottes? ... tomorrow's birthday ... you want to get something out of the oven ... have you tried to bake cakes from recipes?
Rita
rossych,
the stove kneads for 30 minutes during this time, if you see that the bun does not work, you can safely open the lid and add a few tablespoons of flour.
Pelaga , you are wrong not everyone bakes the same. Before that I had an Ariete bread maker. So, bread from it and bread from Kenwood are two big differences, as they say in Odessa. My girlfriend Panasonic, so he makes bread the same as I have now.
And in my former Arieta, the insides, even the color of the bucket, from which the coating began to wear off very quickly, as in Delongy, or Moulinex, only one stirrer.
Bee
Tell me, is there convection in this model?

I used to think that stoves baked the same way, until I bought Kenwood.Bread in 350 Kenwood tastes better and tastes better than in 755 Delongy, and the recipes are the same and have been tried more than once. I'm for Kenwood!
Four quarters
Yes, there is convection.
Pelaga
Uraaaaa! ... (y) bakes sweets with a bang ... today I kneaded a cake on the eighth program ... I took the recipe from the site ... and stuffed all kinds of different stuff ...: From the heart, what is called ... and everything is fine baked! ... (y) I have nothing to compare with ... but very tasty ... so do not think and buy kenwood ... and you will already delight yourself with delicious ... (y) but the bucket is really with good coverage .... the most important thing was that the cupcakes were burning there for someone else ... but everything goes without problems for us ... ... and my child also knocked down the program in the middle of the process ... and I just put randomly for baking 20 minutes ... it is convenient that you can set the parameters of the kneading and baking mode ... by time ... in general, I am happy again ...
... but about the Delongee ... I personally did not like the appearance .. the shape ... and the fact that the plastic case ...
Lady
Hello everyone.
I have 350 - I want 450 !!!
Tell me, is there a rye bread program? And you can set your own - for example, 15 minutes of kneading, 5 hours of proofing, 1 hour of baking?
Pelaga
above they laid out a book of recipes for this stove in Russian ... there you can see ... dark bread can be baked on programs 1 ... 2 and 4 ... in my opinion I remembered it ... I haven't baked it myself .. I didn't really understand. the second program starts with 30 minutes of heating ... and you can set the duration of each process ... as many as five programs ... just don't remember the move. what time of proofing ... I'll see ... what if it's not a secret that doesn't suit you in volume 350? ...

... today I tried to knead the dough on dumplings ... and loaded a whole kg with another. according to the recipe ... then I realized that I needed half ... in general, she skidded a little ... but kneaded ... the poor fellow, due to the inexperience of the hostess, had to pant ... so it's better to do a little softer .. and knead ... although here I made the dough on pasties ... as well as on dumplings and noodles ... it turned out to be stiff and dry in pasties ... so you can knead more boldly not so tight ... in general I will try ...
Lady
Pelaga, I looked at the recipe book (it's a pity that there are no operating instructions, usually all modes are described there with tables for the duration of processes). I know that there is a "Rye Bread" mode in Panasonic, so I asked if it was here.
And I would like to know about my program from those who have already done it, whether it is possible to set the whole program at once and go to bed.
In 350, I get out with rye bread like this - knead for 15 minutes and turn it off, it will double - turn on baking. I would like all at once.
Model 350 suits me very much - it has been working for 2 years, before that it was 256 (or 8?), Worked for 4 years and began to junk. Since baking is my hobby (and enthusiastic people do not always listen to reason), I want something even newer, even better.
Pelaga
Lady ..
and how much is needed for the dough to rise 2 times ??? 2 hours is not enough? ... take a closer look at the program .. that is, the tables at the end of the book .... each is described in stages ... how much time is spent and for what ...

and the total time of spreading for any. programs 5 hours ... only after an hour and the next two hours for 15 minutes of kneading ... if this does not bother you and does not harm the dough, you can safely use your favorite recipe on this stove ... lay everything down and go to bed ... and in the morning get some bread! ...
Lady
Four fours, thank you very much for the link, this is what I was missing, there are no more questions.
Palaga, about the time of getting up twice - it is arbitrary, for example, I will interfere for 10-15 minutes in the evening and go to bed, and in the morning I will bake. It depends very much on flour and it is not yet known from what. But when the bread will stand longer and sour and I like it better.
Four quarters
I'll write about jams ... I cooked it twice according to recipes from the site: from kiwi and orange. They boil down very much. Even without the addition of gelling components, the result is a thick and, for my taste, very concentrated jam. I will hammer in my Favorite programs a recipe for making jams with a shortened cooking time.

Quote: Four quarters

The maximum proofing time that can be set is 2 hours.

If you put on "0" the third and fourth batches, then the maximum proofing will be 1 + 2 + 2 = 5 hours.
Lady
Hello everyone.
Please tell me at what temperature is baking? It is unlikely that it is different in different modes, and, as I understand it, there is no adjustment?
Four quarters
The manufacturer does not indicate such information in the instructions and technical specifications. There is, of course, no regulation.
In any case, the temperature on the heating element, in the middle of the loaf, and the surface temperature of the bucket are different.
