I want to buy an egg cooker. Who uses it, tell me what to look for. What are the subtleties and how does it work. What is a needle for piercing the shell for, when to pierce it?
Admin

I use an egg cooker all the time, BOSCH for 3 eggs. Decide how many eggs you are going to cook at once, there are 3, 4, 6 eggs, in principle, you can boil 1 egg in a large one, another thing is when you need for the whole family, 2 people. x 2 pcs. already 4 pieces. Inside mine, in a bathtub where water is poured, a Teflon coating. The principle of operation is simple - 3 cooking modes - soft-boiled, in a bag, in a steep one. Water is poured from a measuring cup based on the cooking mode and the number of eggs, closed with a lid and wait until the water boils away, and there will be a ready signal. Eggs must be pierced with a needle before boiling so that they do not explode or burst, they are boiled with steam. Everything is very simple and convenient, I have been using it for many years and I am satisfied. In general, you need to immediately buy 6 eggs, more convenient for the family.
There are also microwave ovens, but I saw them only once, bought them and never saw them again, they are for 4 eggs, the design is different, very convenient. I boil eggs in water only when a large amount needs to be boiled. I like that you do not need to stand over them and timed the readiness (there is a signal) and water is not sprayed out of the pan.
ikirina
I also use an egg cooker. I have 7 eggs. The thing is very convenient. You can also cook 1 egg. True. I never pierce eggs. Nothing has exploded yet.
Anastasia
I use Bosch for 7 eggs (but you can really cook any quantity from 1 to 7). Very comfortable. Before that, there was a Bineton egg cooker, with a supposedly Teflon coating, which quickly peeled off everything and cooked it at all, it will not exactly digest, then it will be undercooked. In general, compared to Bosch, heaven and earth. Bosch has a stainless-coated bowl, it is very easy to clean and cooks exactly, as you measure the amount of water, you will get such a result. I pierce the hole with a needle so that the eggs do not crack during cooking.
Caprice
People, pliiiz, explain to me what the problem is to boil eggs in a saucepan on the stove? Is it really such a difficulty that you need to buy equipment for this too ??
Elena Bo
Caprice, if boiled hard, no problem. But soft-boiled or in a bag .... I keep forgetting, getting distracted and very upset when you want soft-boiled and you get what you get, but not at all what you wanted.
Girls, thanks for the clarification. Bosch found only one.

That's for sure, she is. The only unexpected moment is in using the Bosch egg cookers - do not be alarmed when you hear her signal about the end of cooking - it is very sharp and loud. - many are shocked by this sound in the first place.

Caprice
Oh, how I agree with Elena Bo, I also really love soft-boiled eggs, but in an egg cooker they are exactly what they are and do not need to be on guard. And time is saved very much - there is no need to wait for the water to boil, until the eggs start to boil - the cooking process begins immediately, and since very little water is used there, significant energy savings occur.
Elena Bo
Anastasia, so I will order her after the holiday and delivery is free.

Well, right, I think, you will not be disappointed. There on the measuring cup there will be three designations - Hard-cool, Medium-in a bag and Soft-crumpled.

It's easier to buy a timer and turn it off when it rings. However, I can still understand those who have electric stoves. I have gas. And if you cook in a saucepan, then electricity is not consumed at all.

Each has its own criteria for simplicity, and the price of an egg cooker is quite democratic so that you can buy and operate it. I just have an electric stove, so I feel the savings, and coupled with a consistently good result, I think the acquisition is profitable. And for the timer, you will need to somehow compose your programs in order to find out how much time you need to spend on the required number of eggs to get the desired result.
Admin

You can, of course, use a mechanical timer. But do not compare the "high" that you get from boiling eggs in an egg boiler. They are boiled with steam, with a small volume of water designed specifically for the cooking mode, the signal of the end of cooking. Or fill the bucket with water, and the bottom of the bucket does not correspond to the comfort, you need more dishes, which means more water, wait until it boils, count the time, set the timer, hit the "point" and .......
Yes, today the price is affordable for egg cookers and we will use it almost daily, it will quickly pay off, if we say so. We buy chocolates, etc., which we will use periodically, from time to time.

People, for Gd's sake, don't get me wrong! Everyone has the right to buy as many devices as they see fit for their kitchen. I just "played the situation" for myself and realized that I can handle such elementary things as boiling eggs in the traditional way: in a saucepan on the stove.
Elena Bo
Caprice, a year ago I would have completely agreed with you. But now I feel that I need her. Well, I want to. I think she will be a good helper for me, because they constantly demand from me eggs in a bag, but it is not always possible to keep track of it and then you get reproaches. I will make my life easier, especially not so much money.
Anna1966
Hello everybody! Take me into your ranks too. And I use a double boiler all the time and there I cook not only eggs but practically everything. Very convenient. There are containers for eggs, I cook porridge everything except semolina, meat, chickens, cutlets and everything in it is cute. put on the timer in the evening and in the morning everything is ready hot class and the cost is slightly higher than an egg cooker.
lira70
and today they brought me an egg cooker, a simple "Severin", I ordered it in m-video, I had to finish the order up to 3 thousand rubles. , but she, thank God, also cooks in 3 modes, otherwise I was worried.
Yana
Lira 70, all egg cookers are cooked in 3 modes. The most important thing in an egg cooker is the egg holder. Several years ago I had a "Bosch" for 7 pieces. So this holder began to crack after six months. At first, barely noticeable cracks appeared, then they became larger and larger. The egg cooker is still in working order, and because of this it is impossible to use it. At the beginning of this year, I decided to buy another and chose the egg cooker only by the holder so that it was durable, I did not look at the brand at all. Acquired "Exido". It says that it is made in Sweden. But sellers honestly said it was China. Of course, in terms of its technical characteristics, it is inferior to "Bosch", but the holder is still in perfect condition.

I looked at the description of the BOSCH TEK 1101 Egg Cooker .. and there, among all the above, there is this:
- Measuring cup for water with a tip for piercing the shell
And why pierce the shell? or should this be done all the time before boiling eggs?
Elena Bo
You need to pierce the egg from the blunt side so that it does not burst during cooking.
Elena Bo
And here I am all the time thinking, will we put the eggs down or vveh?
I put it down, but sometimes they leak, since the present eggs do not always have an air sac at the bottom, it happens on the side.
Korata
our thoughts converged straight :))
I just read your post and thought about the same .. Eggs are strange, some really)) that's why I thought - do not they follow
Uncle Sam
Don't you think about it. (Swift talked about the whole war over the blunt and sharp end of the eggs)
Try it and then tell us how to cook eggs correctly.
Elena Bo
Yes, I brew with a puncture down, but suddenly it’s wrong? Maybe you need to go up, then they will not flow?
Tashenka
Boil eggs with a puncture down. And they never leaked to me.
I don't see any point in arguing about whether this device is needed or not. Everyone decides for himself. For me, it is NECESSARY. Recently, I constantly forgot about the eggs put on the cooking stove. If anyone has ever experienced "pleasure" from the smell of burnt eggs and a burnt saucepan, they will understand me. The "spirit" of a burnt egg reminds of itself for a very long time! But now it is impossible to forget about the cooking process! The sound made by the finished egg cooker will raise the sleeper into a sound sleep.
Zoychik
but I do not pierce anything, and they do not crack at me! at least "in a bag", at least in a cool one ..
Korata
but I don't cook yet .. I'm piercing the current .. because I don't have an egg cooker .. (just kidding)
I just climbed to read about this thing and got interested :)
Anastasia
And I always pierce the eggs and boil them with a puncture UP, because this is by analogy with a closed saucepan - when the contents are heated and, accordingly, with a tightly closed lid, the food tries to escape due to the increased pressure inside, and the egg shell simply cannot withstand this pressure, crack and drain. And if you put the hole down, then the protein, which quickly curls up during cooking, will clog it again and there will be no sense from the hole.
elen @
And I don’t pierce eggs at all.
Elena Bo
I didn’t puncture anything today. Not cracked! Truth boiled down.

almost urgent!
I just can’t understand - on the glass, the risers for water are strangely located - for 1 egg of water more than for 6 - is this so necessary? and 3 more marks applied - the lowest is for an egg in a bag, the middle one is crumpled, and the top one is steep. So?
Tashenka
Everything is correct. The fewer eggs, the more water. The longer the cooking time, the more water. If you pour it exactly, it turns out perfectly. Checked more than once.
lira70
Tashenka
Thank you!
only now they put it, while I was waiting for an answer to 1 egg on the middle mark, i.e. for soft-boiled, it turned out .. in short, I naevrno t will drop, but soft-boiled is when the yolk is liquid? or is it in a bag?

Yes, this is so, for one egg there is more water, because when you put more eggs by the number, the water evaporates more slowly - the eggs get in the way of the water quickly evaporate and it turns out that they boil anyway longer than when you pour a lot of water for one or two eggs. So with the tags for the number of eggs on the glass, everything is in order. But according to the labels hard, medium, soft, I cook myself soft-boiled on soft (although logically it should be on medium), but this is probably to your taste - you just have to try to cook it once and decide which suits you best.

I want to buy a Bosch egg cooker, but I couldn't find it in stores. Tell me, maybe someone met them? If yes, where?
As an extreme option, I consider the firm "Severin". If anyone has such, share your opinion.

Oksasha
I don't know how all egg cookers differ .. well, I'm not talking about modes of course .. and not about the number of eggs ..
and so I have Severin, 6 eggs for 3 modes, cook at least one at least 6 or as much as necessary, in any version .. and screams not like crazy, but like a loud bird, when everything is ready.

You would at least tell me from which city or country you are .... Here we have a complete international and it is very difficult to advise any of the purchases without knowing where you are from. In Moscow, for example, there is absolutely no shortage of Bosch egg cookers, and I would still highly recommend finding it. I had an egg cooker from Binaton, which worked well, but for a very short time, over time, it began to lie very much with the result of cooking, you order soft-boiled, cooks, as God puts something hard-boiled on your soul, then in a bag. Tired of it.I bought Bosch, and now I am happy for a very long time with a stable result - as you order it, it will cook.
Mams
I have Severin. My husband liked it by sight, it is stainless steel For 7 eggs, three cooking modes. (moreover, you can put it between these three modes, it will also cook). Yelling, an infection, the sleeping man will wake up. The husband stands nearby to turn it off sooner. And everything else is like everyone else's. They are now very similar, look at the appearance.

I am from Moscow, I live in the Eastern District (Novokosino). And I haven't found Bosch in stores for almost a month. Where did you see them? Tell me please. Found only in 1 online store, made an order, and in response - silence. They didn't even call.

OksashaYou are lucky you didn't buy Bosch. See what happened to the holder from Bosch (white). Nearby is an Exido holder (black).

Well, I have Bosch for more than 4 years, and nothing like this happens with the holder. And I bought it on the recommendation of many users who had only one complaint about it - too loud a signal at the end of the program. I really wanted a reliable thing after the unreliable Binaton. It is very strange that your plastic was broken so.
The last time a Bosch egg cooker was on sale was in El. Paradise on Prazhskaya. I didn't even think there was such a deficit.
Hairpin
I very much envy the owners of egg cookers for three eggs (like Admin at the beginning of the topic). Has anyone seen these in our time? I dug up the Internet, but did not find it ... Only for 7-8 pieces. And there is certainly no Bosch like Admin.
lira70
swan
egg cookers for 6 eggs allow you to cook at least one egg! so envy is not worth it! but just go and buy 6 eggs and cook as much as necessary!
and a measuring cup for all positions shows how much water is needed!
Hairpin
I just think an egg cooker is three eggs smaller than seven. I have minimalism disease. I buy the smallest appliances for the kitchen. Let it be more expensive, but let it take up less space. I think that this is a disease of all the inhabitants of Khrushchev.
I have been looking at the egg cooker for a long time, and when I read the reviews, I made up my mind. For tiny ... But I don't see tiny ones on sale.
I will wait!
Yana
swan, there are Zauber Z910 egg cookers on sale with holders for 3 and 7 eggs, that is, two in one. But the model itself seemed to me large, although very beautiful.
lira70
swan
yes I would not say that it is very large .. want to measure at home in cm in a circle?
Hairpin
lira70
Thank you, I'll go to the store to buy it, and I'll see the dimensions there. Do you think they are 3 and 7 eggs almost the same size?
lira70
to be honest - I don't know what it looks like at 3, I have 6 eggs .. it is round))
Hairpin
I bought an egg cooker! I boiled one egg, it turned out to be cooler than I wanted, but this is already a matter of experience. Egg cooker for 6 eggs (the smallest). Happy as an elephant. I paid a little less than 600 rubles.
In the process of bragging at work, the people look strangely. Now I threaten everyone to give egg cookers for their birthday. Very scared ...

I want to add that her sound is not nasty (in my opinion). It looks like a soft bird.

And soft-boiled / hard-boiled is regulated by the amount of water. When I bought it, I thought that there should be three hard-boiled buttons / interventions / soft-boiled ... It turned out to be easier. I didn’t understand if all egg cookers have such a system ... Or there is a switch. I don't think so.
