  • Take "fish for cats". I have a small cod without a head ("bakala" in local). This fish is decently dietary, but indecently cheap. I take it all the time in the same super, cashiers are interested in "how the cats are doing." Hake, raw sardines, whatever. BUT! EXPENSIVE NOBLE FISH IS NOT GOOD.
  • 1. Fry growing on a small amount. more onion oil.
  • 2. While the onion is fried, clean the fish. I don't even let her completely defrost, it's more convenient to clean. It does not require a lot of trouble, quite clean, a few movements, cut off the remnants of the fins, remove the scales under running water, the inside is almost empty, if there is anything, I remove it - that's all.
  • 3. At the bottom of the slow cooker, put half of the fried onion and place our fish with a "valetic", similar to how sardines or sprats rest in a purchased jar.
  • We put the fish in only one layer.
  • 4. Put the other half of the onion on the fish.
  • 5. Salt, black pepper and lavrushka there.
  • NO WATER!
  • We turn on the slow cooker. In my 4 hours of automatic mode (that is, the first hour, apparently, is strong, and then some not very high temperature is automatically maintained), the fish let out the juice and was almost completely covered with it, became golden and generally tasty.
  • Do not overcook!
  • Half was eaten hot. The other half was left to cool down completely.
  • Forecast: tomorrow morning it will look like sardines. I know, because I usually do this "catfish" on a simple stove.
  • Observation: A delicious spirit around the apartment, but not at all obtrusive fishy, ​​as is usually the case when cooking fish.

In Kiev in those years I did not have a slow cooker. We simmered on gas over very low heat on a divider. I remember that they were tormented for a long time. In sardines, even the bones became soft, they did not need to be cleaned, they ate right with them.
