Corn on the cob in a double boiler

Ingredients

Corn on the cob
Water

Cooking method

  • If possible in more detail. We love corn very much, but I have not heard of cooking it in a double boiler.
  • Peeled cobs, it is possible in 2 layers, are placed in a double boiler on the grate, the permissible maximum of water is in the container for generating steam, the double boiler is closed with a lid and cooked until it is turned off. If corn mature - you may need topping up, for a young one you can have an incomplete water capacity. Then you don't need to salt, you can grease the finished cobs with butter and eat right away

Time for preparing:

Thank you, I can't wait for the corn season. I will definitely try to cook in a double boiler.

Today I successfully experimented - I boiled corn on the cobs in a Panasonic multicooker (4.5 l). Mode - steaming. poured 5 cups of water. Time set 40 minutes, but it could have been longer by 10 minutes.
It’s hard to believe that making corn has become so easy and quick.

Thanks to the forum for their support on any culinary issues.

And I had a question, the fact is that I boil corn for 7-10 minutes to the pan, and how long should I put it for steaming? it seems to me that 40 minutes is too much.

Different varieties of corn. For one variety, 40 minutes is not enough, while for another 10 is a lot. Sugar varieties cook faster than vegetable varieties

I am very concerned about this question. I'll cook today, I don't know how. I tried 15 minutes in a pressure cooker, it turned out oak. in the evening I will be in a slow cooker for a couple ...

the fact of the matter is that I cook all varieties from 7 to 10 minutes, one friend taught me, like corn, if you cook it for more than 10 minutes, it becomes firm and softens after 40 minutes

melrin, thanks for the advice! Today I cooked corn for 10 minutes, it turned out soft and tasty! The corn was old and vegetable (yellow). Cooked in Redmond M70 on Steam mode. I filled it with cold water, turned on the Steam mode for 10 minutes, and after 10 minutes, soft, tasty corn! Thank you! I went to put a plus sign!

Well, then it turns out that the cooking process takes much longer than 10 minutes? Until the water boils for 20 minutes, and even 10 minutes of cooking - as a result, it comes out for 30-40 minutes?

I cook in a double boiler for just 35 minutes ...

I brewed in Redmond on the Par program. The water boils in a maximum of 5 minutes. The cartoon starts counting from the moment the water boils. So, in general, it turns out about 15 minutes. But it's not about time. The point is that if you cook for 10 minutes, then the corn turns out to be soft, if a little more, then it becomes hard and then it must be cooked for 40 minutes. melrin and wrote.

I've been boiling corn in a Brown Steamer for over 15 years.
I pour water to the maximum, I also set the maximum time
The readiness of corn is determined by the grandmother's method - by puncturing the grain with a sharp fork.
Today I cooked for 40 minutes. Ready corn can be greased with butter, salt and eaten.
