Mexican Quesadilla in its most primitive form is a tortilla, folded in half, filled with cheese and baked or fried in oil. The gastronomic guide already describes it as “a typical colonial dish that successfully combines two gastronomic cultures: tortilla from Native Americans (and avocado, of course, if we add guacamole) plus a free Spanish style in organizing the filling and the traditional spicy pungency from the conquistadors who set foot on this blessed land in the 16th century. And we have learned to cook it long ago. And it's great. "
So, we have already acquired "tortillas" - devices for baking Mexican flatbreads, and I am sure that such devices for baking quesadillas will soon appear on sale. I have a George Foreman Electric Quesadilla Maker GFQ001. The device is designed for ready-made, commercially available tortillas with a diameter of 25 cm. Any filling is spread on the flat cake being laid down, covered with a second flat cake, closed, and depending on the filling, six ready-made "pies" will be received starting from three minutes.
I decided to test it by making a la minichebureki and using not ready-made tortillas, but my own dough. I did not spread the filling in a continuous layer, as recommended, but laid it out in compartments, and specially greased the dough pieces from the outside, so that the "chebureks" were at least a little closer to authentic ones.

Girls, there is very little filling in it. A little more, and no longer close.
,
I was afraid to put more filling, and in vain - much more could fit. But even so it is clear that there are a lot of fillings.

My verdict - I liked the device, bakes quickly, takes up little space (vertical storage), it will definitely be in use. In addition to tortilla, you can use pita bread, and ready-made puff pastry, etc.

Can I have a dough recipe?
Of course. It took me about 200-250 g of flour for this amount (the dough should not stick to my hands), about 120-130 g of water, half st. l. rast. butter, a pinch of salt, a little less than 1 tsp. vinegar. Let it lie a little under the film. I roll it out very thinly.
