Orange confiture

Category: Culinary recipes
Orange jam

Ingredients

* Oranges 4 things. (about 1 kg)
* Sugar 500 BC
* Gelatin 1 pack. (10 g.)
* Rum (cognac, brandy) 2 tbsp. l.
* Orange 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • Oranges ALL very thoroughly wash with hot water, a stiff brush.
  • From two of them, remove the zest with a slicer (or whatever is convenient for you) without touching the white part. Cut it into thin noodles.
  • Cut an individual orange in half and squeeze the juice out of it. Pour gelatin into it and leave to swell while the confiture is boiling.
  • Peel the remaining oranges (4 pcs.) From the remaining peel.
  • Free from films and seeds.
  • Cut the resulting "fillet" into small pieces (I cut it with scissors) and put it in a saucepan in which you will cook the jam (I cooked it in a slow cooker)
  • Pour sugar and zest noodles there.
  • Put on medium heat, as soon as it boils intensely, reduce the heat. Cook for 20-25 minutes.
  • At the end, when the mass begins to thicken, dissolve the gelatin (I do this in the microwave).
  • Pour into the confiture, at the same time add alcohol.
  • Mix everything well, and immediately remove from heat.
  • While hot, arrange in jars and close with lids.
  • Leave to cool at room temperature. Then put it in the refrigerator.
  • In the cold, the contents of the cans will stabilize and have a pleasant consistency.
  • Fresh juice gives a strong aroma. Alcohol also produces pleasant, subtle notes.
  • The jam is not intended for preforms.

Note

You can improvise with the recipe. A very interesting option is to replace part of the oranges with grapefruit - this is for those who like bitterness. You can also add grated fresh ginger instead of alcohol. Tangerine confiture is great.
The option with the addition of berries has the right to be.
