  • Rinse the beets, boil until tender, peel. Cut the prepared beets into thin slices, dry with a napkin, put on drier trays, dry until tender. Cool the finished beets completely and grind them into powder in a coffee grinder. You can tint confectionery or vegetable purees. I made a powder, but I haven't used it anywhere.

Rita, I did not timed the time, the beets were dried with onions and green leaves. I just periodically checked and removed what was ready, and reported fresh products, removed the beets last, it was the wettest product. The dryer worked for about 8-10 hours.

Tatyana, boiled dried beets give a significantly richer color when added. than the same but dried raw. Verified personally.
By the way, I do not cut into slices, but rub on a grater, it dries much faster this way. And steamed beets (boiled in a pressure cooker) almost do not emit juice when rubbed.
