Category: Meat dishes
Chicken fillet as beef stroganoff in a KitFort 2010 slow cooker

Ingredients

Fillet of breast, or thighs of chicken, or turkey 500 g
Bulb onions 1 large
Fresh champignons 100-250g
Salt pepper taste
Sour cream 0.5 cups
Water 0.5 cups
Corn starch 2 tsp
Medium spicy mustard like Dijon (to taste) 0.5 h, l,

Cooking method

  • We clean the onion, wash it, cut it into thin half rings and put it on the bottom of the bowl.
  • Champignons, peel, wash, cut into quarters, put on top of the onion.
  • Fillet of breast, or my thighs and cut into thin cubes in the manner of beef stroganoff, or azu.
  • We lay out the meat in one layer on top of the mushrooms (if there is more meat, then the taste will be different, more boiled)
  • Salt and pepper, less than when cooking on the stove.
  • Close with a lid and cook in MAX mode
  • about 2.5 hours (breast fillets take about 2h15 minutes to cook, and thigh fillets about 2.5 hours).
  • Fill with sauce, stir and cook for another 20-30 minutes on MAX until the sauce thickens.
  • If there are no mushrooms, then it's also delicious without them.
  • SAUCE:
  • Dissolve starch and mustard in 0.5 glass of water. Add 0.5 cups sour cream, mix and pour the sauce over the food in the bowl.
  • We taste (I like to add a pinch of sugar to the sauce), add salt, add pepper and simmer until thick and rich in taste.

The dish is designed for

2 servings

Time for preparing:

3 hours

Cooking program:

MAX

Note

Mustard should only set off, but not drown out the taste of chicken and mushrooms, so you need to add it carefully, little by little, to your taste.

Chicken fillet as beef stroganoff in a KitFort 2010 slow cooker
We lay out the products in layers, salt and pepper only for meat and a little

Breast fillet after 2 hours 15 minutes
, cooked as if steamed over onions and mushrooms, which are stewed in their own juice.
Thigh fillets are usually more ruddy and flavorful than breast fillets

Add the sauce, stir, taste, add a little and cook until the sauce thickens.

Well done, that laid out! Not confusing and very tasty! I made 2 servings of sauce, because I love the sauce, but here it turns out to be rich.

Mrs. Addams
Oksana, thanks for the recipe!
I wanted to ask - based on your experience, if the chicken pieces, before pouring the sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese - will it melt / brown or not?
brendabaker
Mrs. Addams,
I would put the cheese at the very last moment, right on top of the sauce, the cheese will melt even in the turned off device.
But as for it will turn red, I am afraid that if you put the cheese before pouring the shrub, it will spread and maybe stick a little to the side of the bowl somewhere, it will darken there, but there will be no beautiful ruddy across the entire surface.

Oksana, Set to cook this "beef stroganoff". What do you recommend for a side dish? buckwheat, rice or something else?
Mirabel
something didn't quite work out for me, as I would like .. the sauce did not thicken, I had to use the Lazareson method, the meat was ready, and the onion remained slightly undercooked. But they ate everything and very quickly! I will definitely try again!
Oksana! mille merci to you!

the sauce has not thickened
Vic, if you took corn starch, then you need to take more of it. then everything will thicken.
Mirabel
Galina, Gal! aha! cornstarch was, but next time I'll take more!

I always take it more than potato, it is weaker than potato.

Mirabel, Vika, my bow was not quite ready either when I did it for the first time. Otherwise, the recipe is excellent! I don’t really like onions anyway, I have to "hide" it - now I pass it first. Especially if I make pork or chicken slowly.

Oksanathanks for the recipe
Cooked in a 1 liter slow cooker on Low for 5 hours, then added the sauce and another 1 hour. Everything is thickened.
I also added a little dry porcini mushrooms.
The onion is slightly felt, probably next time I pre-pass it.

Good lunch everyone))) Can you cook such a treat in a slow cooker?
brendabaker
Svetlana,
Sveta, but I just like that the onion is felt, it seems to me that it is more piquant like that, although, of course, this is a matter of taste

tana33,
Tatyana, I cooked this dish in different SLOW cookers, and with different amounts of products and every time it turns out different. I like most of all in this quantity and in the performance of Keefort 2010, (in Kenwood 706 it slightly dries the meat on top. In Kitforth 205 the taste is more stewed, in Russell Hobbs the onion is often harsh)
Therefore, I can advise you to try to cook it on your different modes (stewing, simmering, manual 90 *, etc., in different volumes (500 g of meat, 700 g of meat, etc.) and choose from them what it will be very tasty for your taste, like this recipe for me

Oksana, Thank you !

Oksana, I have a question. Is the bowl too big for this amount of food?
And then I worry that it will hang out there at the bottom, as with porridge. I ordered such a slow cooker ..... I'm waiting, studying recipes, I apologize for being a little off topic.
brendabaker
Bast1nda,
The number of products in the recipe is designed for a bowl volume of 3.5 liters, if you put more, then the chicken taste will be boiled
