The recipe interested me, but I don't want to bother with such a feed for a large number of people. If served in a salad bowl, what is the best way to cut the beets? Is it better to make croutons from rye bread or is it not important?
MariS
Elena, served in a salad bowl too. The main thing is to prepare the salad shortly before serving, or put the herring last. Otherwise, it turns into a beetroot color (and orange too) quickly and the salad does not look as bright as we would like. It is best to mix all the ingredients shortly before serving.

I also cut the beets - in thin slices, but it can be smaller, if you like so much. Croutons, too, if desired, but wheat-rye bread with herring tastes better to me.

Marina, I wanted to cut the beets on the Berner into cubes, not on a Korean grater, but larger. In a salad bowl, probably, on the contrary, you need to collect, that is, salad, beets with oranges, herring and croutons on top?
MariS
Elena, of course, you can also cut on the Berner. The croutons are better large and yes, on top. But for a feast it would be better without croutons in the salad - they will quickly get wet and if there are several salads on the table, then they, after all, are not immediately eaten. In my opinion, the croutons can be put separately.

Marina, Thank you. I will do so.

Irina, I am very glad that I liked the salad. And that the photo has disappeared - it doesn't matter! Hopefully new!
