Sakhalin smelt baked in the oven as prevention of osteoporosis

Ingredients

Sakhalin small smelt 500 g
Lemon half
Vegetable oil

Cooking method

  • We defrost the smelt in salty cold water, and at the same time wash it - there are very few scales, it comes off well during washing.
  • Then we dry it, grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil, put the smelt tightly, squeeze the juice of half a lemon on top evenly, sprinkle with vegetable oil,
  • Sakhalin smelt baked in the oven as prevention of osteoporosis
  • bake at T 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. The baking time depends on the oven. I baked in a small, very simple tabletop oven.
  • We eat the smelt prepared in this way directly with the bones - the bones become very soft when baked. Many fish with caviar. Very fast and delicious.
  • The meat of this fish contains a large amount of trace elements and minerals (potassium, magnesium, iron, sodium, phosphorus, molybdenum, fluorine, chlorine).

Katko
you can't buy this smelt from us, but capelin looks good, is it possible?
eye
katko, Katen, so they are of the same family, hto will forbid you, do it!

I would say that it was capelin, but I never cooked or ate smelt

Katko
Tatyana, yes I did it in the oven - ponra
and in the process, too, everywhere is kusna, but I am a fish soul, even if raw or baked, any will disappear
Scarecrow
How I love smelt ... It is not as sharp as capelin, fresh - so white and shiny, it smells like fresh cucumber ... Yyyyyy)))).

Sistra! Smelt is wonderful for us, but there is capelin, so this is how I have been cooking it in the oven for a long time. Sometimes I put onion rings under the fish, my husband loves him very much.
Nagira
Oh, thank you so much for the recipe, Maria!
And just this year we began to sell this beautiful fish - the back is so yellow ...
Since I don't understand fish, small bones are not mine, and the smell is damp, and when cooking is too heavy for me, on rare occasions I try to take only salmon, trout and ice ...
I just looked at this smelt, I thought that since a small fish, you will suffer with small bones ... girl_prepare_fish:
Well, since the bones are edible, you must definitely try it !!!
Valkyr
katko, Katerina, of course, the capelin is also very tasty, but her bones are not the same that you can grind right out of the oven like this. I also have capelin in the freezer, and also Far Eastern. Here they are different to taste, although they are also very tasty!

Scarecrow, yeah, much more tender capelin, and less fat, and almost all with caviar, and the taste is such sea-sea, that is, it smells like iodine. Or by sea?
It was not possible to try the St. Petersburg-Neva smelt - I was on a business trip in St. Petersburg during the very catch of this very smelt, they sold it everywhere, and the smell is naturally cucumber, yeah. But there was nowhere to cook in St. Petersburg, and it would certainly not have been possible to take a train to Moscow!
And in Moscow now there are many shops with Sakhalin and Kamchatka fish products, and there I buy smelt and capelin and other different things.

katko, Katerina, I won't dare to cook fish in the process, I have a simple oven for fish. Here's a fish and bake in it.

NagiraIrina, yes, I believed the manufacturer's brochure that you can eat a small smelt with bones, and I was not disappointed - indeed, the bones are very soft, quite edible, the older generation really appreciated it! There was no strong fishy smell either, but it was most likely from lemon. Capelin is much more perfumed!
Katko
Valkyr, Maria, and I do all kinds of fish in the Princess, on the Pyrex uniform, we like how it turns out
you have to ask around, maybe we have such shops open, although they hardly seem ...

I crack a capelin with bones, even if I salted myself, and even baked and even more so

Valkyr
Oh, I have some at home, well, they are quite sensitive to smells. Smell the smell of fish if you bake pizza later. Potato is okay.

I myself do not come to these Red Caviar stores very often. But if I come, I'll stock up well. The products are normal and the prices are different. But before the holidays, prices have already begun to rise, for example, the trumpeter has been greatly raised.

You bastards!

that you can eat a small smelt with bones,
oh, I missed this moment, it seems to be a small fish, but ours is not the size of a capelin, maybe with bones in a larger one, such a number will not work? Scribble, Mash, in centimeters how many fish lovers are scared to experiment ...
Valkyr
Sakhalin smelt baked in the oven as prevention of osteoporosis
10 to 15 cm in length.
Larger, it is already at a different price and also frozen and evacuated.
Lind @
I understand correctly, the fish is not cleaned?
Olyok
I got inspired, rushed to the fish store, where I could only fish for European smelt. The fish is too small, did not smell like a cucumber, more like a pharmacy, as befits a remedy for osteoporosis. For the first time I did not clean the intestines from the fish, waited with interest for the result. A little too dry, apparently due to the miniature size of the fish, it was necessary to reduce the cooking time. It's not a dinner, but a fish delicacy, yes !, and in my case, fish seeds. Thanks for the recipe! I will do more.
Scarecrow
Olyok,

I never had a capelin dinner)). It is fish seeds)).
Seberia
Valkyr, Maria, how are you on time with the recipe
The second week I sadly look at the smelt in the freezer and cannot figure out how to deal with it better
Well now I know how

Quote: Olyok
For the first time I didn't clean the intestines of a fish
Are they there too?
Scarecrow
Seberia,

No, why, eat like capelin. Capelin is not gutted or cleaned. It is fried / boiled / baked whole, and when eaten, it is gutted.

I apologize to the author that I'm here like in a barrel ... she ... this one, yeah))).
Seberia
Scarecrow, Nata, thank you, honestly I didn't know how to eat her

Oh how! And I always clean to ...
Irriska1963
Only my smelt. We don't cook it somehow, but fry it, dry it, yes. Bake - bake only if in order to reduce the amount of fat. Gently take out the intestines with the finished fried-dried. Capelin, especially when freshly caught, is very tasty too. But you can't compare it with smelt. Winter is coming soon! The whole bay smells like cucumber. We do not clean smelt and capelin for the reason that they are greasy, and when cleaning and further fried, they will be much drier. And the caviar in their belly is delicious.
Florichka
I saw smelt somewhere around 369 rubles per kg.
Valkyr
Thank you girls for the feedback. The day before yesterday I made up my mind, baked it in the pritesske. No, it’s better in the oven, in the princess, everything quickly began to burn, but inside the bones remained solid.
Florichka, Irina, I buy smelt much cheaper at Krasnaya Caviar.
Cook

Cooking smelt in the oven. But the smell is so persistent, you won't get rid of it for a very long time.

Advise how to get rid of it? I took her in Red Caviar.
Valkyr
After the usual washing of the baking sheet, there was no smell in the oven, however, the night stood with the door ajar. The smelt is not as perfumed as the capelin.
orange
I read the topic and bought a smelt. But I was not impressed at all, especially at this price.
Florichka
In Red Caviar 340
Valkyr
orange, which means it's better to eat other fish.
Florichka, Sakhalin smelt baked in the oven as prevention of osteoporosis - this fish in "Red Caviar" costs 230 rubles per kilo.

Anele
I bought your smelt ... I baked it in the oven for an hour. Then she fried it in a frying pan. Then she gouged out the guts. Then she spat bones and remnants of intestines, for they gave bitterness. My verdict: clean before frying and generally buy carp next time, they are 2 times cheaper and there is more meat in them)))
Tashu
Anele, You are just out of luck with the fish. Unfortunately, nowadays it is very difficult to find tasty smelt, but fresh it is very tasty and really smells like cucumber. I took in "Red caviar" and "fresh" on ice, but it was not that. In Kamchatka, smelt is tastier !!! For myself, I made a replacement for capelin, I have never made a mistake with it.

And fresh smelt, like capelin, can not be peeled, nothing tastes bitter.
Valkyr
Anele, smelt is not mine, you're out of luck, eat carp.
