Mint jam

Ingredients

Mint 150 g
Water 300 ml
Lemon 1 medium
Sugar 300 g

Cooking method

  • How to make lemon mint jam
  • 1. Mint is thoroughly washed in running water. The leaves and tender stems are crushed.
  • 2. Cut the lemon into slices. If you want to achieve an expressively sour note, take lime instead of lemon.
  • 3. Fill a small saucepan with mint and lemon.
  • 4. Add water.
  • 5. Boil the mixture for 15 minutes. Cover and leave in the refrigerator for 12 hours (I left it on the stove overnight)
  • 6. Strain the mixture through cheesecloth in two layers (I squeeze lightly)
  • 7. Pour the broth into a saucepan, add sugar and stir. Boil for 5 minutes.
  • 8. The jam is poured into jars, closed with screw caps. Store the jam in the refrigerator. (I dip into the basement)
  • How to use mint jam
  • Make sure there is enough jam left in the jar ahead of a romantic dinner. On its basis, you will prepare an amazing light version of the famous Mojito cocktail. This will require 100 milliliters of vodka, 100 milliliters of mint jam, and 200 milliliters of Sprite sparkling water. Mix, pour into tall glasses and toss in a few ice cubes.
  • Lovers of semolina puddings can use green jam to decorate the snow-white surface of the frozen milk layer. Then the children will be more interested in such dishes. With the help of gelatin, mint jam easily turns into a beautiful top layer of the cake.
  • And tea is just a fairy tale.
  • I found such a recipe on the Internet, now I add it, the color turns out to be a rich lemon.
  • Mint jam

Note

It's more of a syrup, but on the Internet they called it jam. If you increase the amount of ingredients, increase the cooking time.

Elenaand what is the way out? How do you taste? Very intrigued)

I do different volumes every time, so I don't remember how much it turns out. And the taste ....... must be tasted, so it cannot be explained. If you make the amount indicated in the recipe, then you get something about 500 grams + -, I can't say for sure, I don't remember. Try half of the recipe, I always try new recipes like that.

Thanks for the answer!

In a whisper (I love mojitos so much that I'm ready to experiment))
I would also learn to make the ingredients for the aperol syringe on my own, I would drink too much)))

Well, the color is similar to yours, yellow-lemon color. And if you boil a little longer, then the color is darker and the consistency turns out like jelly. I make this jam from mint or lemon balm.

Semolina pudding lovers can use green jam
I saw this phrase in the recipe, so I asked
Silyavka
At first I also thought it would be green, but alas and ah. When I take the proportions according to the recipe, it's also like jelly, but I often cook an enlarged recipe, that's why I say that it takes a little longer to boil.

Elena, I have a recipe for kg! sugar and still freezes in jelly after 15 minutes of cooking .. maybe it also depends on the proportions, I don't know
