Mint tarragon syrup with lemon juice

Ingredients

mint bunch 300-400 g
tarragon (tarragon) large bundle
sugar 1-1.5 kg
water 1.5 l
lemon 1 PC

Cooking method

  • I accidentally attacked our Tina's recipes

    (V-tina)
  • and cooked a wonderful mint and lemon syrup using it.
  • then our Irishka Tumanchik let slip that she was making tarragon syrup. I, as a spy, urgently found out the recipe from her. I made my own adjustments to the technology, but took its proportions.
  • after reading the recipes on the Internet, where tarragon is pounded a little in a ceramic mortar, I was completely depressed. It's summer in the yard, I want to take a walk, and not pound the grass endlessly ...
  • eventually:
  • recipe part 1: rinse mint, cut, put in a saucepan, cut lemon, pour water. I had the usual mint in half with pepper about 300-400 g, 0.5 liters of water, 1 small lemon.
  • boil for 10 minutes, cover, leave until morning.
  • recipe part 2: tarragon (tarragon) stems 30-50 cm long, a bunch of 6-8 cm in diameter (not weighed), cut into sticks 5-7 cm with scissors, pour 1 liter of water, also boil for 10 minutes and leave overnight.
  • in the morning I added 0.5 kg of sugar to mint syrup, 800 grams to tarragon.
  • When I began to try, I lacked something: expressiveness in mint, I wanted to reduce bitterness in tarragon.
  • There was nothing to lose, I mixed both syrups, added a little sugar, poured in a little more lemon juice and realized that I got a very tasty mint-tarragon syrup with a bright taste.
  • The recipe is really raw, needs some work, BUT!
  • There are no berries this year, there were severe frosts. Purchased berries are very expensive. Perhaps this recipe will help someone out this winter.
  • I will cook some more, try to mix both herbs at once, I will definitely add comments.

What was it like for me? There is mint, there is tarragon, there are almost no berries 😂

radalina3, Alina! The viscosity depends on the amount of sugar. I adjusted the taste with sugar and lemon juice. It turned out like liquid honey.

SPb, I thought so
