Tea rose jam

Tea rose jam

Ingredients

Tea rose buds 400-500gr
Sugar 500gr
Water 250ml
Lemon acid 0.5h l.

Cooking method

  • We already have similar recipes at Mcooker:
  • Jam "Tea Rose"
    (Crochet)
  • Rose petal jam Gulbesheker
    (milvok)
  • But everyone, as they say, has its own nuances and zest in cooking. With the advent of the flowering of a tea rose, I will allow myself to tell you how I make this tasty and healthy delicacy.
  • For jam, we need buds. They should be strong, not crumble in the hands, without wilted petals.
  • When plucking tea rose buds, use scissors and cut with a small twig.
  • Firstly, you "unload" the bush and it will not waste energy on already faded buds.
  • Secondly, it will be convenient to cut off the white base of the petals (it is not needed, as it gives a bitterness in the ready-made jam).
  • Tea rose jam
  • So, cut off the white base from the buds.
  • Tea rose jam
  • This is how it looks:
  • Tea rose jam
  • We take half the norm of citric acid
  • Tea rose jam
  • scatter into petals and lightly crush them
  • Tea rose jam
  • We leave the petals, and cook the syrup ourselves.
  • Boil water, pour out all the sugar, stirring, cook until it dissolves.
  • Tea rose jam
  • Add the remaining citric acid and stir.
  • Pour in the petals
  • Tea rose jam
  • mix them gently
  • Tea rose jam
  • bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Tea rose jam
  • Turn off the heat and let the rose cool to a slightly warm state.
  • Then we repeat the process, that is, cook again for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Unfold in prepared sterile jars, turn over, wrap with a towel and leave to cool.
  • Tea rose jam

The dish is designed for

400gr

Time for preparing:

1 hour

Note

Tea rose, unlike other herbs, can be harvested after rain. The main thing is to do it before 10 am or in the evening.

I will not describe all the beneficial properties of a tea rose, it's not a secret for anyone. Jam from it is healthy, tasty and beautiful! In addition, this is a wonderful present for those who have children!

Tatka1, Tatyanahow I love tea rose jam, what kind of jam my grandmother made, and for summer practice we went to the collective farm and collected a tea rose, as it was a long time ago !!! Thanks for the recipe ...
Tusya Tasya
Tanyushik, what a beauty! Season is open! And how much by volume do 400g of petals take? Half a bucket? Last year I collected a little petals, then I cooked more syrup. The aroma was, the color was, so a delicious pink syrup drink was provided to us. One thing was embarrassing - in hot water the syrup and petals lost color. And if you pour it cold, it is very beautiful, but in winter you want something hot. "This is how I live in a constant conflict of soul and body" (from the movie "The Blonde Around the Corner")
Tatka1
kristina1 Karina, thanks for stopping by!

Natasha, I guarantee that this will not happen with the addition of citric acid!
On the first photo, do you see a disposable bag? Here is just the right amount. I cut 15 minutes from one bush.
Thank you for your attention to the recipe!
Rituslya
Tanechka, oh, what a beauty !!!
I thought that rose jam is a fairy tale. Well, it doesn't happen!
And now ... Mmmm! "Tea rose jam ..." ... Oh !!!
Tanechka, Thank you!

Tanya, you don't understand. It is not the jam that loses its color, but the "compote" from it. I realized about the bag, I can collect so much.

Tatka1, mmmm, what a royal jam! I don't have tea roses, I have hybrid tea and floribunda. They bloom for a long time and I am sorry to always cut the flowers. It is necessary to buy a tea house for this purpose.
Thanks so much for the delicious recipe!

Well done, Tanya, that laid out the recipe
I will print the recipe so that it does not get lost in the bookmarks
Now, please explain to me in more detail about the tea rose. We are in the middle lane, we represent the tea rose as a not very large bush, yours seems to be tall. Or did I not understand?
I only have in stock climbing and reddish flowers.
Is there a wonderful scent in your rose?
Will mine fit?
try to answer positively
Tatka1
Lidochka, we have a tea rose on every corner. The bushes are different: low, high, who both cut and grow. The scent is incomparable. It is very bright, but at the same time delicate and delicate. What I just do not do from buds. I stock up for the whole year and provide friends
Here is my bush, though the photo is unsuccessful, it was necessary to photograph it was normal

Yours will not work, it will be bitter
Gaby
Sharp, what a clever you are, I put out such a recipe. Some photographs are worth something, and in the first photographs I want to put the handle in the basin, to feel how delicate these petals are ... I don't have roses, but there are two jars of jam presented to me. My friend, who gave it, asks everything, you opened the can, and I answer no. She doesn’t understand why, but I take it ashore and answer that this is a delicacy, like a can of black caviar. And who will open a can of black caviar just like that? You need a reason.
The recipe is still in the bookmarks, suddenly I'm lucky.
Tatka1
marika33 Marinochka, Gaby Vikusya, thank you very much, girls!

Vika, open the jam, enjoy, otherwise it will become sugar over time

very sorry
Tatka1
LidochkaWell, don't cry. You will admire your own and get positive emotions!
Marika33
Tanyushawhat a beautiful rose you have! I love roses very much!
Of course, your place is much warmer than ours, because it is so big and there are many flowers!
Tatka1
Marinochka, but see how many buds are unopened? If you cut off the already faded ones, then they bloom and the rose will look beautiful for a long, long time. And if you simply cut off the petals, then a lot then go into the rosehip and the rose does not look very good.
This is where my knowledge in such matters ends
It's just that this bush is the only one in the yard that is MY))) Therefore, I wait for its flowering every spring and enjoy
And when I cut off my flowers, I raid the neighbors. People already know that I will come and smile, do not scold, on the contrary)))
kristina1
And tea rose jam is mixed with walnuts and added to baked goods in rolls, God, how delicious it is !!!
Tumanchik
Tanya what a fabulous jam. I ate it literally a couple of times !!!! Really like. Even the smell is remembered.
Thanks for the detailed report. you never know what happens in life ...
Marika33
Tanechka, I also always wait for the blooming roses, and then enjoy the aromas. Each rose smells differently, and all together give such a unique aroma!
Today I found aphids on three roses, covered all the shoots. I brewed celandine, sprinkled it, tomorrow I'll see the result.
Tatka1
Thank you, Karina, I will know and try somehow.
Last year I made several jars with the addition of strawberries, this is generally a fly away
But this year, due to the weather, it is still missing massively and the price

Tumanchik, thanks, Ira, for stopping by
Yes, this jam tastes exquisite
What a pity that we are all so far away. I can imagine what a common table we would have!)))

more about the tea rose. We are in the middle lane, we represent the tea rose as a not very large bush
space, Lydia, not all roses go for jam, but red or pink, but even among them they stand out in terms of the density of the petals. Somehow dug into 🔗 I recommend taking a look. With a faint aroma, Rosarium Utersen turns out to be very fragrant in jam or sachet
Tatka1
Tumanchik, thank you, Irochka, for the invitation!
With your Alyosha to talk and with you would be glad! But so far I have not been able to travel much. Since 2013, it hasn't really been anywhere (((
Well, nothing, everything must change one day
Smile
Tatka1, Tanya, and how many petals have already been cut off, have you not weighed? I want to try, if roses bloom this year, very bad wintering
Tatka1
Quote: Smile

and how many petals have already been cut off, have you not weighed?
Katyusha, 100 grams goes to waste.
Even if you make half a serving and you get one jar, you just savor it, enjoy it. It's delicious to add to ice cream, to curd. I ate with Ricotta yesterday.
I also have syrup, but I like jam more.
I wish that the rose still pleases with flowering!

Quote: Tatka1
make half a portion and you get one jar
Tanyusha, from seventy bushes there will be more than one jar per season, I throw it into compost a bucket a day

Tatyana, even not in the very near future I will hardly be able to repeat this recipe But for that it is very informative, thank you.In Baku, I remember, in Soviet times, such a jam was sold, but the look (color) he had so-so, I never wanted to buy it ... And you have a real one, pink
Tatka1
Thank you, Innochka!
What a pity that the tea rose is not available for many. Until yesterday I didn't even know about it. It seemed to me that there is a lot of her everywhere

Tatyana, do you already have roses in bloom?
We only have tulips in full, the lilac has not even begun yet
The other day I went with the child for young bumps, they didn’t get enough, they are still small. And the trees are tall

A floribunda rose, will it go for jam?
Tatka1
Veta, bloom in all I have cut it off every day since the weekend, and in the morning new flowers bloom again. So beautiful!)))
Tulips, daffodils, lilacs have already faded. So fast this year that straight, upset
Quote: Twig

A floribunda rose, will it go for jam?
I don't know, to be honest, I'm not strong in them ...
kristina1
Twig, Veta, as far as I know, jam is made only from the petals of a tea rose, earlier in Soviet times there were huge fields only of tea roses, I personally did not hear any other varieties of roses for using jam .. and did not see, every year we passed summer practice on the collective farm ..
