Slow-cooked pea soup without salt

Ingredients

Green peas in a jar (400ml) 1 can
Hulled peas, dry, yellow 1.5 cups
Water 4 glasses
Onions, chopped 0.5 cups
Carrots, small cubes 1.5 pcs medium
Celery petiolate, small cubes 1.5 stems
Garlic flattened with a knife 2 teeth
Bay leaf 1 PC
Wine vinegar, or balsamic 1-2 tbsp. l.
Fresh tomato, small cubes 1 glass, or to taste
Mustard powder 0.5 tsp
Black pepper, moloy taste
Parsley or cilantro taste

Cooking method

  • This thick pea soup is from Dr. Caldwell Esselstin Jr.'s book * Super Heart * unusually fresh and light, slightly sour, in short, an atypical taste for pea soup, so I posted the recipe.
  • 1. Thoroughly rinse the split peas, peel and chop the onions, carrots and celery stalks.
  • Put all this in a slow cooker bowl, add mustard powder and 4 glasses of water.
  • Cook until the peas are completely mashed (my slow cooker does this in 5 hours at HIGH.)
  • 2. Open a jar of green peas, drain the liquid, rinse the peas. Put in a bowl along with crushed garlic, bay leaf and wine or balsamic vinegar. Stir, let it warm while we cut the tomatoes and greens.
  • Add small pieces of tomatoes and chopped herbs to a bowl of soup, season with black pepper to taste.
  • The presence of mustard and vinegar noticeably emphasizes the sweetness of the green peas.
  • We get about 2 liters of soup.
