It is said that Chuycho's recipe was invented by Emily Puig, a confectioner from Girona. In addition, there is a legend according to which this name is associated with a story that happened to an acrobat named Tarlà, who performed in front of the inhabitants of Girona. He fell in love with the daughter of a pastry chef, she reciprocated. During their secret meeting at a pastry chef's house, the beloved's father unexpectedly returned. Tarlà hid in a bag of flour, but very soon he began to sneeze "chui-cho" and was discovered. To avoid the wrath of the pastry chef, he promised to marry his daughter and tell him the recipe for a pastry not known to the inhabitants of Girona. It received the name Chuichou in memory of this story.
