Slow Cooker Pea Soup with Vegetables

Ingredients

Peas yellow, dry, halved 450ml
The water is cold 1500 ml
Kumin 1/3 tsp
Onion 1 large
Carrot 3 small
Stalked celery 1 stem
Garlic 2 teeth
Salt taste
Dry coriander pinch
Dried greens (dill, parsley) pinch
Beets, small (optional) 1 PC

Cooking method

  • In a slow cooker bowl, place 450 ml (2 incomplete glasses) of washed yellow split peas, add:
  • 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 3 small carrots (or 2 carrots +1 beets), peeled and grated on a coarse grater,
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3 tsp cumin,
  • 6 glasses of clean cold water.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH 5 hours until peas are tender.
  • Then remove the foam, season with salt, season to taste with dried herbs and ground coriander.
  • Let it brew for 1 hour in the switched off slow cooker.
  • The next day, warmed up, it tastes even better.
