Cooking method

  • From such an unpretentious set of products that every housewife has at home, you can make delicious homemade cookies!

  • Mix flour, sugar in a deep bowl. Quench the baking powder with vinegar and pour into flour.

  • Add margarine and chop with a knife until crumbly. Gradually add sour cream and continue chopping the dough.

  • Do not interfere with your hands !!!! Gently collect the dough into a ball (it is better to divide it into several parts, then it is more convenient to roll it out) and send it to the cold (from an hour to 8 hours). You can knead such a dough and freeze it in the freezer until it's useful.

  • As you can see, the dough should contain non-uniform pieces of margarine. Here it is important not to succumb to temptation and do not mix everything with your hands until a smooth dough! All!!!

  • Roll out the cooled dough to a thickness of 0.5 cm. It is convenient to do this through a film or parchment, because otherwise pieces will be pulled out of the dough and wound on a rolling pin. It is better to roll in one direction (with the same purpose).
  • Cut cookies with cookie cutters or cut into pieces with a knife (as you like). Consider the fact that the trimmings will then need to be collected into a ball, rolled out, etc. And the more you knead the dough, the more uniform (and less layered) it will eventually become. So I just cut it into diamonds. Next, each cookie should be smeared with a beaten egg and dipped in sugar (on one side). This is perhaps the most time consuming part of the preparation. However, if you simply sprinkle sugar over the top, then some of the sugar that is poured onto the baking sheet will melt and burn, which will have a bad effect on the appearance and taste of the cookies.

  • Bake in a preheated oven 150-170 * C for about 15 minutes. Focus on the color - the cookies should grow up and brown. Do not open the oven while baking. I bake with convection - this is how cookies are baked and dried at the same time. If it is too white, then there is a risk that it will not bake in the middle, and if you succumb to the temptation and hold it longer, then you can skip that fine line between the golden brown crust and oh ... already burned out.
