Tomatoes with onions and vegetable oil

Ingredients

Water 1 l
Salt 1 tbsp. l. (slide)
Sugar 3 tbsp. l. (slide)
Bulb onions
Vegetable oil
Black peppercorns
Carnation
Vinegar 70%
Tomato 1800-1900

Cooking method

  • Let's prepare the jars and lids as usual.
  • Cut the onion into thin slices.
  • Tomatoes with onions and vegetable oil
  • Arrange the rings in banks. In this recipe, the onion turns out to be very tasty and for some reason they always take it out first, and then eat the tomato. Therefore, I put more onions. I used one large onion in this recipe.
  • Add 3-5 pieces of peppercorns to each jar, 3-5 pieces of cloves too.
  • Tomatoes with onions and vegetable oil
  • We cut large tomatoes into halves, we just prick small tomatoes and put them in jars.
  • Tomatoes with onions and vegetable oil
  • Tomatoes with onions and vegetable oil
  • Prepare the brine: add 1 tbsp for 1 liter of water. l. salt with a slide and 3 tbsp. l. sugar with a slide. Boil.
  • Fill the tomato jars. Add 70% vinegar to each jar, a little less than a coffee spoon (I have 720 ml cans, if you take liter ones, then 1 coffee spoon or 0.5 tsp vinegar). Cover with lids and set to sterilize (after boiling water for 10-15 minutes). We take out the banks, add 1.5-2 tbsp to each one. l. vegetable oil and roll up, turn over and leave to cool.

The dish is designed for

From this amount of tomatoes, he got 6 jars of 720 ml.

Note

I have been rolling this recipe for 25 years. Never let me down! Banks are great at home, I have no other place to store them. Both onions and tomatoes are eaten and the brine is drunk completely. Everyone, without exception, likes this recipe. And most importantly, they are good, for 25 years not a single can has exploded!
Try it, it's a really worthwhile recipe.

PS passed Temko 2 times, I did not find a similar recipe, if anything please excuse me.

Sauza
According to this recipe, my husband spins the tomatoes with his own hand, does not trust anyone))) only he puts vinegar 9%, the essence somewhat coarsens the taste.
It turns out very tasty, a little vinegar - the tomatoes come out very tender)
OlgaYUB
I agree with you, you can use 9% vinegar. And the taste is really delicate, pleasant!
kavmins
I'll try, I'll definitely cook it, it's good that the tomatoes are here in halves - so you can adapt not very whole ones)
it's just a pity that it is necessary to sterilize - I really don't like this thing))
Kasanko
I once had a recipe for tomatoes, but in lean years I got lost somewhere. I will try your recipe, I really like tomatoes
kirch
OlgaYUB, Olenka, what a good recipe. I will definitely use it. Thank you.

Sauza, Olga! And how much 9% vinegar should be poured into such a 720 ml jar

OlgaYUB, Sauza! Tell me please. Do such tomatoes taste like pickled, like salted or store-bought canned?

No, tomatoes are not canned. The taste is delicate and pleasant. The vinegar doesn't feel at all, as if it isn't there at all. I would like to call this recipe Dessert Tomatoes.
Masha Ivanova
OlgaYUB, thank you!

I don't like to sterilize either. But how quickly it is done, I do not even notice. I pour hot tap water into a saucepan, it boils faster. And most importantly, the jars are very good.

Helen, try it, you won't regret it! I am sure you will like this recipe!

Olga! I hate pickled and canned tomatoes, and there is nowhere to store. And the second refrigerator is packed with all kinds of food for the winter. I was very interested in your recipe, as it is stored without a refrigerator. That is, they just do not resemble salted tomatoes, did I understand correctly?

Olga, I also do not like to deal with sterilization. Until I take it to the piggy bank 🔗 If there are delicious tomatoes in the fall, then I'll roll it up a little.
OlgaYUB
Lyudmilka (kirch), Oksana (kasanko), try it, you won't regret it. When I bring it to work, you have no idea what is happening, the tomato disappears in years, and the onion too. And they begin to divide the brine, God forbid, pour it out.

Yes, Lenus, they do not resemble at all! There is no such vigorous aftertaste when you eat pickled cucumbers or tomatoes. I think this is due to the fact that we pour in the vinegar at the time of sterilization, and it probably evaporates or something else happens to it, and then we add vegetable oil, which softens the taste. Something like this! But this is my reasoning

OlgaYUB, tell me, is there too little salt? A neighbor gave me this very recipe a few years ago, with the same rave reviews. I closed it, and in winter they opened it, and the tomatoes are just sweet, I can't hear the salt, I had to add some salt to each one, and this, alas, was "not that coat."

Elechka, no, everything is strictly according to the recipe. It may depend on salt or taste, who is saltier, or how. Then put in more salt if you feel a shortage. All the time I do it strictly according to the recipe, no one complained that there was not enough salt. Or make 2 prescription jars and 2 salt increase jars and compare.

OlgaYUB! How long do these tomatoes have to stand rolled up in jars in order to get salted and you could taste?

Lenus, usually my tomatoes are rolled in July-August, and we filmed a sample on my mother's DR in September, everything was already ready. I think in a month or 1.5. , more or less like this.
Masha Ivanova
Olya, thank you very much! That is, you can now make a couple of jars for a test, in a month try the taste and amount of salt and still have time to make it for the winter. There is no garden of our own, and in September we still sell excellent Altai tomatoes.

Len, I think you can risk it. But then try in late August or early September.

Why add? To have two recipes with the same name? And you will run and swear, and look for "somewhere there was another author of the recipe ..." - and who cares?

Leave the name as it is! People bookmark recipes right away if they are happy with them.

Lerele
OlgaYUB, onions will definitely eat but a tomato is unlikely.
OlgaYUB
To be honest, I hardly eat onions. My body resists for some reason. But I know for sure that the onions are delicious there, everyone says that! And they pull out the onion to the last little ring! And they still manage to divide this ring among themselves. Then the tomatoes also fly away and the brine division begins! It is necessary to see it! Until they drink the brine, they won't give the jar!

Sash, odorless. I always take this, that's why I didn't write in the recipe which one should be corrected.

Yeah, Olyushka, I understand. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow I'll try to make some jars.

Good luck! I think the recipe will take root!

Natasha, to get 9% vinegar, you need to dilute the essence in a 1: 7 ratio.
For some reason I think that it is possible.

Added on Friday 12 Aug 2016 10:05 AM

Natal, look, I put about a coffee spoon on 720 ml, which is about 2.5-3 grams (coffee spoon = 0.5 teaspoon). Vinegar 70% is diluted 1 to 7, which means 2.5 multiplied by 7 = 17.5 and divided by 5 grams (teaspoon) = 3.5 tsp.
Natali73
Thank you, I already put it in, but first I put in the sunflower oil, then I set it to sterilize, I hope I won't spoil it.

I think not, but for 0.5 liters you can put 2 tsp 9% vinegar.
