Pea soup with smoked chicken and pumpkin

Ingredients

Split peas 1/2 tbsp. (250 ml)
Potatoes (large) 2 pcs.
Carrots (large) 1 PC.
Onions (medium) 2-3 pcs.
Pumpkin 150-200 gr.
Smoked chicken breast 1/2 pcs.
Salt, peppercorns, bay leaf taste

Cooking method

  • Soak peas overnight in cold water. Drain the water in the morning, rinse the peas. Pour about 1.5 liters of water into a saucepan, salt, add peas, cook almost until tender. Then add the diced potatoes and pumpkin (I added the pumpkin at the very end of cooking, because it cooks quickly from the freezer), cook until tender. Meanwhile, fry the onions and carrots. Once the vegetables are ready, add the frying and the meat, cut into small pieces, to the soup. Boil for 5 minutes. Then turn off the heat, add peppercorns, bay leaves. Close the lid and let the soup brew for 15 minutes.
