Cupcake with poppy seeds and cherries

Ingredients

wheat flour / grade 200 grams
egg 3 pieces
sugar 130 gram
salt pinch
poppy filling 50 grams
cherry b / pits 70 grams
butter (I have a spread) 200 grams
vanilla taste
baking powder 0.5 tsp
soda 1/3 teaspoon
icing sugar optional for sprinkling

Cooking method

  • Beat soft butter or spread.
  • Add sugar, salt and beat until fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Mix flour with vanilla, baking soda and baking powder.
  • Knead the dough with a spoon.
  • The dough is thick.
  • Divide the dough in half.
  • Add the poppy filling to one part.
  • If it is not there, then pour boiling water over the dry poppy, cover, allow to cool. Drain the water, grind the poppy seeds in a mortar with some of the sugar taken from the total.
  • Remove pits from cherries. If the cherries are frozen, defrost and drain.
  • Grease the form with margarine.

  • "Drown" the cherries in the poppy dough.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes in a preheated oven at 175-180 degrees.

  • Turn onto a wire rack to cool.
  • Sprinkle the cooled cake with icing sugar.
