Instant cereal 130 gr.
Honey 1 tbsp. l.
Butter (margarine) softened 15 gr.
Coarse sea salt 1.5 tsp.
Yeast SAF-Instant 9 gr.
Hot water or milk 350 ml.

Cooking method

  • I will present you a recently mastered version of soft cereal cakes with yeast. I accidentally found this recipe in the net and loved it very much.
  • For the recipe, I use 5 cereal flakes, but you can use any. I cooked them on the run, so the molding is oblique
  • I have tried baking them in milk and water. I liked the option with water more, and the children more on milk. So try it!
  • Pour cereals and salt in a bowl, add honey and butter.

  • Cover with hot liquid and let it stand to room temperature.

  • Then add sifted flour on a spoon, add all the yeast to the consistency of a soft, slightly sticky dough. It takes me from 400 to 500 grams. But it all depends on the consistency of the flakes.

  • Fold the dough and return to the bowl.

  • Allow to rise for 30 minutes at room temperature under the film.
  • Then knead the dough and divide into 12 parts.
  • Tuck each part into a bun and let stand for another 15 minutes.
  • Roll out the flat cakes 3 cm thick. Poke with a fork and place on a baking mat.

  • Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 20 minutes.
  • Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 20-25 minutes until tender.

Moreover, in the morning I steamed the flakes first - sugar-salt-butter, then added yeast to the warm flakes (just in case, I first woke them up in warm sweet water) and had to go to the dacha, so I put everything in a bowl on the lower plate chill, I arrived in the evening - everything is fine, I added flour (I definitely did not notice about 400g left) - we got soft cakes
