Ingredients

Medium Navaga (any fish) 2 pcs.
Potatoes 2-3 pcs.
Celery root small piece
Celery stalk 2 stems
Small carrots 1 PC.
Bulb onions 1 PC.
Bell pepper red 0.5 pcs.
Large tomato, not very sour 1 PC.
Allspice and black peas 3 pcs.
Bay leaf 1 PC.
Coriander (seeds) or fish spices 1/6 tsp
Rice 3-4 tbsp. l.
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp. l.
Greens (dill, parsley, cilantro) taste
Capers (if any) 1 tbsp. l.
Tomatoes 8-10 pcs.
For serving lemon slices and olives, chopped herbs
Salt
Water

Cooking method

  • I suggest you treat yourself to fish soup. I know that not everyone is cooked with rice, so I advise you to try it. Used navaga, which I bought thanks to our dear Vei... The fish is tender, not very fatty, it showed itself well in the soup.
  • - Clean, rinse the fish, remove the eyes and gills. (I don't like it when the fish in the soup looks at me! :)
  • - Grate the carrots, cut the onions into cubes and sauté right in a saucepan in a small amount of oil until a visible golden grain appears on the onion, add finely diced bell pepper, fry a little more, stirring constantly.
  • - Cut the tomato into cubes (preferably without skin), warm up with all the vegetables.
  • - Cut the potatoes figuratively, rinse them, add celery into cubes and add to the frying, immediately pour boiling water (2-2.5 liters), reduce the heat and cook until the potatoes are half cooked.
  • - If necessary, cut the fish into large pieces, put them in boiling soup, add washed rice, capers. Salt the soup, taking into account the capers (I have the capers in salt), bring to a boil and remove the foam. Put parsley sprigs and dill stalks, chopped celery stalks.

  • - Reduce heat to minimum, add all the spices to the pan, put cherry tomatoes five minutes before the end. Remove the foam again. Do not let the soup boil too much, especially the fish soup, it will turn out cloudy, and the fish may scatter.
  • - Rice should not be boiled, as it will swell later anyway.
  • - Serve with lemon wedges and olives, if available. Sprinkle with herbs in plates.

Note

Cherry tomatoes float so nicely intact, and they are also sweet and very decorate the soup.

I love both rice and celery, and I love sweet peppers, but I never put peppers in fish soup, so I'll try it!

Olchik, I'll cook for myself such a soup.I cook fish soup only with tomatoes and cucumbers, like a hodgepodge, I don't really respect fish soup like fish soup.
They never cooked soup from navaga and did not add celery
Yesterday I bought myself a couple of navaga fish, but I have already pickled them and wrapped them in foil, today I will make them for lunch in a cousin or in a princess.

Do you cook navaga with your head or throw your head away? In general, for me, the revelation that you can cook ear from navaga, I recently learned - they also cook from smelt and are very praised.

Try adding a good natural fish sauce (Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese), a couple of tablespoons instead of salt at the very beginning of cooking. It will be even tastier, I guarantee!
Shl. Caution - salty fish sauce! Do not pay attention to the smell - it disappears in half an hour of cooking if the sauce is of high quality. I use it at home in any soups, borscht, mostly meat.
