Lean struuli at Jamie Oliver HomeCooker (Philips HR1050 / 90)

Ingredients

Dough:
Warm water 300 g
Fresh yeast 17 g
Sugar 10 g
Salt 12 g
Wheat flour 500 g
Vegetable oil 40 g
Cabbage:
Sauerkraut 250 g
Fresh cabbage 750 g
Salt pepper
Vegetable oil for frying and greasing
Dill (optional)

Cooking method

  • Dough: add all the ingredients except vegetable oil and mix thoroughly. Add vegetable oil and knead the dough. We put it in a container, cover it and put it in a warm place for 40 minutes. We knead, set for another 20 minutes in a warm place. At this time, we are preparing a homecooker, a steam basket for it. I covered the bottom of the steam basket with a special disposable liner. Shred fresh cabbage.
  • Divide the dough into two parts. This time I cooked only half of the strules, I put the other half in the refrigerator. Roll out the dough into a square, grease it a little with vegetable oil, sprinkle with dill, wrap it in a roll. We pinch the edge. Place the roll with the edge down and cut into pieces. With a stick, or any round object, squeeze the middle so that the side slices unfold horizontally.
  • We turn on the homecooker, set the temperature to 250 degrees, time 35 minutes with stirring. Pour vegetable oil on the bottom and spread the sauerkraut. We give it a little fried and add fresh cabbage, slightly salt and pepper it. Put the struts in the steam basket. I didn't lubricate them with anything. Place the basket on the homecooker pot and close the lid. After 15 minutes, we reduce the temperature to 175 degrees.

  • In principle, everything. But, this time I had a hard cabbage variety. I added another 15 minutes. After the end of the program, turn off the homecooker and leave for 10 minutes without opening the lid.

Note

STRULI I tried it for the first time many years ago in Bavaria. The waiter, a very flamboyant elderly German, called them Strul, with an emphasis on the last letter. Strule and cabbage were garnished with goose breast and really liked it. I immediately found the recipe on the Internet and began to cook this dish very often. As a side dish for meat and as a lean option. To be honest, I like the lean version more. Of course, milk in its usual form gives tenderness, but ...

With the purchase of a homecooker, the process was much easier and I decided to present a lean recipe specifically for Jamie Oliver HomeCooker.

Tatyana, I have known this dish for a long time, but before it was made from unleavened dough. This is delicious! I can imagine steamed yeast! Thank you for your option.

Babushka,
Don't make a homecooker anymore.
Tanyulya

Tatyana, thanks for your attention to the recipe! I am a fan of Chinese steam stuff, and the strules are very tasty!

Uhtyzh! What a wonderful molding!
I just saw this in a white version, but for some reason I forget about it all the time. But here - a completely different calico!
Tanya, excellent shtruliks!
Now I also want to do these.
Thanks for the little dill idea.

I broke my head to cook something like this in the post for lunch (vegetable soups were fed up), and then there were just vegetables (forks of cabbage, daikon, celery) in the refrigerator and a can of salted dill, so the cabbage was in the bowl, and multicooker.I hope my sons enjoy it.
Well, I prepared it. They ate it. It's just a bomb! I didn't even have time to photograph
Babushka
Elena Tim, Lenochka, thanks for stopping by. Delicious, it's true! I often do this kind of molding, with or without filling.

Larissa, good luck! Hope you enjoy it!

Ksenia, just about, you don't have time to photograph! My photo, that there are several pieces on a large plate - I just turned away to take the iPad, and the family has already attacked! Thanks for taking the risk to try! It is also very tasty with a fresh tomato, just blended with herbs.

Today I took a picture almost in the cooking process. To be more precise, then in the process of eating. Made of the remaining dough with poppy seeds. Next time I will add garlic to the poppy seeds, I will skip it through the garlic press. There are four on the wire rack, the other six have already been eaten
In theory, these steamed buns had to be dipped into the broth from the cabbage and eaten together with the cabbage, but my buns ate faster than the cabbage.

Babushka,

I really love strudels in different versions, I want to try with cabbage too.
How to make them in a saucepan?
Do I need to add water?
Do you need to spread the struuli on top of the cabbage, or cook them separately, and in a double boiler?
I put my own (meat, onions, potatoes, water, strudel on top) under a tightly closed lid, in a cast-iron saucepan, on a minimum heat for 1.5 hours, probably this is a lot for cabbage?
Babushka
Oksana, thanks for your attention to the recipe. Oh, strudels are my everything! They are so easy to prepare that they don't require any bells and whistles. A saucepan is enough. Fry the cabbage and put the strules on top before stewing. Add a little water or broth, close the lid tightly and that's it! 40 minutes is enough. Good luck!

I cooked for 30 minutes, next time I will put it on for 40 minutes, so that the cabbage turns brown better.
Ooooooooo delicious dough and cabbage just right, THANKS
Babushka
Oksana, very appetizing! I'm glad I liked the recipe.
brendabaker
Babushka,
And from this dough, you can probably bake pies too?
Have you tried it?
Babushka
Oksana, on nature this dough will be harsh. You need to add muffins (an egg, or make a dough in milk ...).
kavmins
I think there are such rolls in Ukrainian cuisine, but there they go with potatoes, tomatoes, onions and meat or bacon ..) is also a good option, but not for fasting, of course!
Babushka
kavmins, yeah, many peoples have similar recipes. I like it with soft cheese and herbs, very tasty with potatoes, mushrooms and cracklings ...
