Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer

Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer

Ingredients

Coconut 1 PC.
Water 2.5 cups

Cooking method

  • Peel the walnut. There are many videos on the Internet on how easy and quick this can be done, so I will not dwell on technology.
  • Remove the pulp, free it from the brown rind with a grater or vegetable peeler. Cut the pulp of the nut into small pieces, put it in a container and cover with water. I took it filtered from the tap.
  • Leave the pulp in water for 8-12 hours. It is better to put it in the refrigerator, because the coconut is a delicate creature, it can sour. My pulp stood in the refrigerator for more than a day, it happened.
  • Prepare a juicer - install a nozzle for juice, put containers for cake and juice. And, most importantly, close the drain hole.
  • Drain the coconut pulp. Do not pour out! It will be useful to us.
  • Place the pulp in the feeding tray of the juicer and add about 100 ml of water left over from soaking the coconut pulp. Turn on the juicer. Do not open drain hole!
  • After all the cake is squeezed out, reload it into the feeding tray, add another 100 ml of water. Turn on the juicer without opening the drain hole.
  • Repeat the previous operations one more time. And after that, open the drain hole.
  • Thus we got about 300 ml of 100% natural cold pressed coconut milk, delicious smelling.
  • Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer
  • I deliberately did not add sugar, honey, something else. Because I wanted to get a natural product with a natural taste (I have never tried coconut milk in my life).
  • The amount of water poured in during preparation depends on how rich the milk you want to get at the exit. You can 200 ml, you can 400. But no longer worth it, it will be liquid and tasteless.
  • A few plaques of coconut oil floated on top of the milk.

  • I was going to catch it, but first decided to disassemble and rinse the juicer. And here a surprise awaited me:
  • Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer
  • Fragrant natural coconut oil !!! My delight knew no bounds, because starting everything, I did not expect at all that I would also have butter.
  • See how much:
  • Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer
  • 30 g of coconut oil.
  • And finally, coconut flakes. I forgot to weigh it raw, but there was a lot of it (pictured is a portioned plate for first courses)

  • Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer
  • It can be used immediately for cooking. But I was interested in drying it. I don't have a dehydrator, but I have a microwave. I dried in it according to the following scheme:
  • 5 minutes. heat on medium power (about 400), stirring in the third minute (carefully, hot! Better to take a spoon or a spatula.)
  • Cool for 5 minutes, stirring
  • Warm up for 5 minutes on medium power, stirring in the third minute
  • Cool for 5 minutes, stirring
  • finish drying at full power (about 800) for 5 minutes.
  • The output is perfectly dried coconut flakes in the amount of 60 g

Note

The technology of making coconut or any other nut milk pushed me Elena_Kamch, for which many thanks to her. Has given courage SvechkaSt, for which she no less thanks from me.
I think everyone knows how delicious coconut milk tastes and how to use it. Seafood recipes.
Raw coconut flakes are very oily to the touch and are a good use as a gentle body scrub.
And little coconut is widely used for cosmetic purposes. It has a beneficial effect on hair and skin. It is coconut oil that is recommended for those who are losing weight intensively, for body care - it tightens the skin well.
And a little more math, which is important for me personally:
I bought a coconut for 50 rubles. 400 ml of coconut milk costs 190-250 rubles (moreover, its composition is interesting). 10 g of coconut flakes costs about 40 rubles. And 300g of coconut oil costs 700-800 rubles. Check out the exit!

ang-kay
Natasha, Thank you. I was just thinking about "milking" coconut. Appeared in our sale. I will definitely buy and try.
And how can you do it without a screw juicer?
Bridge
Angela, you are welcome. I'm glad my experience will come in handy.
Without a juicer, the soaked coconut pulp must be chopped on a grater or the same meat grinder. Pour in the required amount of water and beat in a blender. Or immediately grind with water in a blender without grating. Then fold it back onto cheesecloth and squeeze thoroughly. When standing in the refrigerator, a crust of butter forms on top of the finished milk.
please
Thank you Natasha!
Gala
Natasha, gorgeous milk! And the oil

Good math turns out
I have never worked with purchased coconuts, all some kind of rubbish comes across. I left this occupation, I have to buy everything ready-made separately. Extremely impressed and check it out!

Gala, please, Admin, RepeShock, thanks for your interest, girls.

never worked out with purchased coconuts
I also had a sad experience. I bought the experimental coconut not knowing how to choose them. I took the one that is darker. It is better to choose those with light eyes, they are "younger". On the other hand, they have more juice and less intense taste and aroma.

Coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut flakes in a CASO SJW400 auger juicer
Only I don't know HOW to close the drain?
I really want coconut milk, butter, but in general, more and more
Svetlenki
Natasha, great work done, great result and so much informative information in the notes. Thank you!

I have not yet been stung by the bee of desire about the auger juicer FUF breathed a sigh of relief, but I will keep in mind for the future. The product yield is really impressive!
Irina F
Natasha, and what does closing the drain hole give?
There is no cap in my juicer, although you can adapt the thread for this.
Bridge
Svetlenki, so you didn't sting? You know yourself, we have a lot of bees on the forum, not one, so another will bite
Irina F, Irish, since five in the morning I've been thinking about your question ...
You need to close the drain hole, because when you pour water into a dry coconut, it will just pour out into the hole. And the coconut pulp will not have time to give up its contents. Therefore, in my opinion, you have two ways: either to pick up some kind of plug for the drain hole. I imagine a champagne cork. Somewhere in the depths of my memory I have information that the cork is easily cut with a hot knife. Or some kind of lid from something that you can put on tight.
Or try adding 1 spoonful of coconut to 1 spoonful of water. When the coconut is crushed, the water will no longer run off so easily.

Insert plug only
The lid is tightly inserted into the hole, holds well, which allows you to avoid spontaneous drainage of the remaining juice from the juicer container, and not to stain the table ... and since the juice is different in color, and can even paint the surface tightly, it is even very convenient to control the drain and spillage.
Something like that

Yes, that's when you squeeze juice out of juicy fruits. Here, the cork has a slightly different task - to prevent the liquid from draining until all the necessary substances from the coconut have passed into it.
Elena_Kamch
Bridge, Natasha, oh, and I just came in ... And here thanks to me ... Thank you, it's so nice!
What a fine fellow you are, do not stop there!
The auger juicer is a thing! Keep on experimenting and delight us with your new goodies
In the meantime, I will continue to dream about this useful thing
Irina F
Natasha, thank you very much for the clarification on traffic jams!
Everything is clear now, I will look for something to adapt. Perhaps a champagne cork is perfect!
Admin, Tanya, yes it is clear that with a cork it is better, suddenly you forget to substitute a glass
However, in the case of this recipe, the cork serves different purposes!
No, why didn't they have a cork in my juicer?
Bridge
Irina F, now it dawned on me: put the plastic bag on the drain spout and secure it with a pharmacy or money rubber band! And then take off, and that's it !!!!
I'm a genius
Irina F
OOO, cool, Natasha !!!!
You really are a genius
Uraaa! So I will also make milk and butter, all I have to do is buy coconut!)

Natasha, I will study all the subtleties and get this milk and butter, thanks for the option of using a screw juicer for this purpose!

Thank you very much, very curious way !!
True, it didn't work out to collect the oil. I blend the soaked pulp, squeeze it out, all the oil remains in the shavings, as I understand it))
Milk 250 ml. True, I don't know yet where it is. Probably just a drink.

Bridge, Nataliya, thanks, I was wondering
Bridge
M @ rtochka, I'm glad I managed to make milk. You can, of course, drink it, or you can cook rice on it. Or stew the chicken. There are many options.
M @ rtochka
Bridge, Nataliya, chicken?
Do you have recipes with milk? Still standing in the refrigerator)))
Breast or legs, maybe some spices will work well?
I bought another coconut
Bridge
M @ rtochka, I, now I will not tell. But Google to help!
