Pearl barley "From the bottom of my heart" (for Zigmund & Shtain MC-DS42IH)

Category: Meat dishes
Pearl Barley Whole Heart (for Zigmund & Shtain MC-DS42IH)

Ingredients

Chicken hearts 300 gr.
Pearl barley 1 tbsp.
Onion 1 head
Carrot 1 PC.
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Greens for decoration
Salt taste
Favorite spices optional

Cooking method

  • 1) Put the hearts in the multicooker bowl, fill it up to the 2 liter mark. cold water and cook on the "Stew / Soup" mode for 40 minutes.
  • 2) Take out the finished hearts from the bowl into a plate and cool slightly. Next, we cut along or across - as you like. We filter the broth through a fine sieve to remove scale and make it clean and transparent.
  • 3) Put the washed (necessarily!) Pearl barley into the multicooker bowl, pour two glasses of broth, salt, add spices to taste and turn on the "Pilaf / cereals" mode.
  • Do not pour out the remaining broth, but pour it into a clean container, cool it and store it in the freezer until needed. (Do not forget to write the date on the container)
  • 4) Separately in a frying pan, fry finely chopped onions and carrots in vegetable oil for several minutes. Add chopped hearts there, fry for a minute and remove from heat.
  • 5) Add the fried vegetables with hearts to the finished barley, mix and serve, decorating with herbs.

1 h. 30 min.

Note

You can cook such a dish on the stove, but it's easier to put everything in a multicooker in your free time and not remember. Moreover, barley and hearts can be prepared in advance, and then put everything together.

Creamy
lada-matushka, very good recipe. I love barley, and I also use barley broth as a great jewel later for soups. I even often cook barley with meat just for the broth.
