Cod liver 1 can
Boiled eggs 4 pieces
Onion / green 1 small / several feathers

Cooking method

  • I want to share with you the recipe for my favorite salad now and hated in childhood.
  • If you are lucky and you have got hold of good quality cod liver, then it is best to eat this liver just like that, with mashed potatoes. Or spread on a piece of bread and washed down with hot tea, certainly with lemon. But sometimes you want variety, and then you can do the following:
  • Drain the fat from the liver, knead the liver itself well with a fork.
  • Finely chop the eggs.
  • Finely chop the onion into cubes (or rings, if you have taken green onions).
  • And now mix everything thoroughly. Best of all with a fork.
  • Everything! No need to fill up with anything, add anything else.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes and black bread.
  • PS. There are many similar recipes on the forum. But this one is, so to speak, basic. Already you can add something else to it - boiled rice, potatoes, pickled cucumbers, grated cheese. You can stuff tartlets or buns with this salad.

For this salad, you can also take canned food "Murmansk cod liver" - they are made from frozen liver, it is there in the form of a paste. But you are unlikely to find good canned food with that name. So it's best not to risk it. When buying a liver, pay attention to the inscription “Made at sea” on the bank and the name or number of the vessel must be indicated. This more or less guarantees the quality of the content.
