Ingredients

sugar 50 g

Dough:

starch 100 g

eggs (medium) 3 pcs
salt 1/3 h l
soft low-fat cottage cheese 250 g
oil 200 gr (in dough) + 50 gr (for lubrication later)

Cooking method

  • Cut dried apricots not too coarsely, mix with sugar, orange and lemon juices, bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Grind with a mixing bowl until puree and be sure to cool.

  • Roast the almonds in a clean, dry frying pan and let cool too.

  • Mix all the ingredients for the dough except butter, cut 200 g of butter into small pieces, add to the dough and knead well with your hands. The dough is soft and practically non-sticky.
  • Roll out the dough in a large square and it is better to immediately put it on parchment (otherwise the roll with filling will then be difficult to transfer to a baking sheet without damage, since it turns out to be soft and heavy). Spread the apricot filling over the dough, sprinkle with almonds on top.

  • On both sides, wrap the roll asymmetrically so that then there are two rollers on the cut - larger and smaller.

  • Bake at 180 degrees for about 35-40 minutes. When it turns brown, remove it immediately (it is better to slightly undercooked, otherwise it will turn out too dry), while it is hot, grease the entire surface with melted butter. After cooling, sprinkle with sugar. powder.

Note

For many years it has been an indispensable element of the New Year's table and, in general, "winter" baking. If everyone does not eat it right away (which is rare), it is better to store it wrapped in film so that it does not dry out.

I stole the recipe a hundred years ago from some unpretentious German book like "recipes for every day." They are there in the special. the mold for the stollen was laid (or was it covered on top?). I tried it once, but I didn't see much sense in it. So we do without these architectural frills.
I want to do everything with prunes somehow, although it will probably be harder. But people ask for apricots and stubbornly refuses to experiment.
