Carp baked on a can

Ingredients

carp or carp 1 PC
lemon juice 2 tbsp. l.
mayonnaise 150 g
salt pepper taste
rock salt (on a baking sheet) 1 pack

Cooking method

  • From the beginning we gut the carp, clean and rinse well. We wipe it well with paper towels. In a bowl, combine lemon juice, salt and pepper. We rub the carp with this mixture from the outside and from the inside, let it soak for 15-20 minutes. Pour salt on a baking sheet in a slide in the middle, put a suitable jar of water, and slightly spread the salt on the baking sheet. The jar should be such that carp can be planted on it and it would not touch the salt, but nevertheless it should not be too high, otherwise the carp will break during cooking. Gently put the carp on it and put it in the oven. We bake for 30-40 minutes at 180 C.

  • Then we take out the fish and grease it with mayonnaise from all sides. Put it back in the oven and cook for another 10-15 minutes.

  • Carefully remove the carp from the jar and put it on a dish.

  • P.S. One of the chips of salt poured onto a baking sheet is that after that you do not need to scrub the baking sheet, it is enough to scrape off the salt and wipe it.

From this recipe, my love for carp and carp began, before that I practically did not eat them, and I generally preferred fish in salted or dried form. And then somehow a carp was brought to my husband, but such a big and fat one. I didn't know how to cook and even clean fish, because I didn't really like it. Her husband, of course, cleaned her, gutted her, and wanted to cut her into pieces and fry her, well, it is clear that such a prospect did not suit me at all. I went to rummage through my recipes, so as not to store stacks of magazines, I cut out interesting recipes from them and store them in a box (now the box is no longer enough, and to find the right one will take forever). In general, of all the recipes, only one was found how to cook carp, at one time it seemed very interesting to me. Fortunately, salt at home in bulk, and lemon juice and pepper were also found. We marinated the carp, poured salt on a baking sheet, the most difficult thing was to decide on the can, but we also solved this issue. We put the carp in the oven, detected 40 minutes and waited. Our stove was old and even with the perfectly clean glass of the door, nothing could be seen inside. We open the oven in 40 minutes, and our carp lies on a barrel in salt and is fried. Well, what to do they greased him one barrels with mayonnaise and gave him another 10 minutes to bake. We were upset, of course, because such a carp was gorgeous! They pulled it out after 10 minutes, it was already with such a beautiful appetizing crust that even I wanted a fish, but it tasted just delicious. Of course, the first time I had to tinker, and the carp turned out to be not as beautiful as we would like, but later we got used to it and everything comes out perfectly. Now I have written down several dozen recipes for cooking carp and carp, but I just can't decide to cook something else, this recipe always wins!

Thank you very much for the interesting recipe, the only thing that does not fit in my head is why the salt is here after all? the carp does not touch it, so it does not affect the taste, it turns out its main goal is to keep the baking sheet clean? Or I don’t understand something, when a chicken is cooked on salt - the chicken lies on it and does not let the juice go out of it.
