Millet porridge with pumpkin in a bread machine

Ingredients

millet 1 part
milk 3parts
water 2pieces
pumpkin (grated) 2-3pieces
salt taste
honey taste
butter 0.5 parts

Cooking method

  • A very simple recipe for cooking in a Bread Maker (HP). Cooking on the "JAM" mode.
  • We wash the millet with boiling water! two or three times, with hot boiling water, so that the specific rancid taste of cereals would go away.
  • We clean the pumpkin and three of it on a coarse grater.
  • Dissolve the salt in water.
  • We spread the millet and pumpkin in a bucket of HP, fill it with milk and water, Millet porridge with pumpkin in a bread machine
  • Cover the bucket tightly with foil so that the liquid does not splash out at first.Millet porridge with pumpkin in a bread machine
  • Turn on the "JAM" mode. During this regime, HP interferes with the porridge all the time, so the porridge turns out to be tender, fluffy.Millet porridge with pumpkin in a bread machine
  • At the end of the process, after the beep about the end, remove the foil, add oil.Millet porridge with pumpkin in a bread machine
  • Add honey when the porridge cools down to 40 degrees or directly into the plate to taste.

The dish is designed for

my part is 100ml, porridge turns out to be about 700ml

Time for preparing:

1h 5min

Cooking program:

JAM

Note

You can do it without honey, I don't add sugar at all - pumpkin gives enough sweetness for my taste.
You can add a larger amount of liquid, up to 8 parts per 1 part of millet (in Russian ritual cuisine, such millet porridge is cooked for commemoration), but I like the ratio of 1: 5.
Pumpkin can be replaced with raisins (pre-soaked with boiling water), reducing the amount to 1 part.
You can also add dried apricots, but when cooking it does not give sweetness, but acid, then you cannot do without sugar.

Ludmila, How interesting! What model of bread maker do you have?
Innushka
in a bread maker? it seems to me that this recipe can be safely applied in a multicooker). thanks for the recipe!

Ludmila, I would like to see a photo in x. stove?
Mandraik Ludmila
Later in the evening I will post a photo in HP, right now there is no photo.
I've been doing HP for the second year already, well, in principle, as much as I have HP
Natalishka

Lyudmila, I still don't understand - which model of the bread machine? I ask because in different models the program "jam" or "jam" work differently.
Mandraik Ludmila
HP I have Mystery mbm-1203. I did not notice porridge in the section of bread makers, I was looking for it in porridge.
I will post a photo without fail, though the millet porridge will be with raisins, I don’t want to cut the pumpkin now, there are no small pumpkins left, and there’s no one to share the big one with.
Our family loves millet porridge very much, and indeed porridge, that's why I often do it

And I cook such porridge in cartoons, and shared the recipe with my granddaughter. She also made a cartoon - delicious. Sometimes I also add an apple to the pumpkin.
My recipe is a little different. I take 1 multi-glass of millet, rinse it and pour it into the bowl + pumpkin cut into pieces. I take 1 liter bag of milk. I pour out 1 glass from it, and instead pour in the same amount of boiled water, put a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp. l. sugar and a piece of butter, gr 30. All cold. I turn on the "Milk porridge" mode. We all love this porridge too

From personal experience - with frequent use of HP on the Jam program, there is a high risk of bucket leakage. Service workers will confirm ....
Mandraik Ludmila
Yes, I have leaks, for a long time, even on bread, something falls down, from the very beginning it was so, but it leaks a little, from my point of view, it is not critical.

Mystery mbm-1203
my first HP is the same, worked for 3 years, tirelessly kneading more often not yeast dough, but dumplings, the stirrer axis finally could not stand it, flew out, I covered the hole with oven clay, baked meat bread several times, very good, so HP can be given a second life just like a stove, a saucepan, a mini oven
Mandraik Ludmila
Yes, God bless her, we'll buy a new one. I don't need the fancy ones, but the simple ones are inexpensive. But mine will still serve
