  • We collect red leaves of ivan tea (grows on lawns)

  • Dried in an electric dryer.
  • It's red after drying
  • Ivan-tea autumn
  • It is yellow-green after drying.

I have never been a fan of any herbal and other exotic teas ... BUT !!! This tea looks so beautiful that I wanted to try it ... Or maybe love it?
Olga, thanks !!!
MariV
Galyadear, thanks! This tea is very similar in taste to black tea, I don’t remember the name, some fancy!
Lyoshka
MariVThank you! As the saying goes: "There are no accidents" - there is a CASE - a friend-inventor (A. S. Pushkin)
MariV
Alexey, thank you for the idea!

May I disagree a little .. the idea of making tea from ivan tea on this site belongs to Lyudmila! https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/fo.../index.php@topic=389191.0

Galina, if you think about it, then ordinary tea in our understanding of tea leaves is also from LEAVES plants! What's the difference - grass or shrub). Fermented tea is not just made from dried herbs, but the same technology is strictly followed as when making ordinary tea from tea leaves! Read all the tea topics from Lyudmila, you will not regret it, and while there are still various leaves, try to do it.
Galina Iv.
MariVOlga, yes, I understand, but last year we did it even in late autumn and Luda wrote about it. And in Derevensky it was used in various mixes. Late leaves give a richer astringency to the tea.
MariV
Galina Iv., yes, I got it too. I couldn't reread the whole topic about tea from the beginning, but saw Alexey's proposal the other day.
Galina Iv.
MariV, Olga, I'm not against the fact that Alexei can be thanked).
Albina
Olga, I thought that the tea harvesting season was over.It turns out that you can collect
MariV
Albina, I myself did not know, I recently read it.

Galina Iv.
MariV, Olga, thank you for the detail,

like Luda))

showed everyone!
Let's respect Holguin's work.

Good afternoon, girls! As you argue hotly, your teas are probably hot too. I have been in a bread machine quite recently and have not read all the tea topics yet, so I asked questions about what, where and how. And about red leaves Vanka also asked - who cooked or not? I myself tried to make one myself only last year - and drank it all, I didn't even leave the sample; but just in case, left a little in the freezer and the case just turned up, because our summer was not THIS (2 months of rain) and all the tops were rotten and we had to replenish tea supplies with fruit and vegetable leaves. Now something is in the freezer and in October I will cook EVERYTHING I can (I will go on vacation), and I will post something with pictures
Lyoshka
"Fuzzy", by the way, also managed to make a little, but again it was September and from the yellow leaves of Vanka and a handful of boxes, so it also moved away from the "correct" recipe. Cook, try, rejoice and help each other, you have so HEALTHY here - I like it! I even shared a link to your site (topic) on my VK and on the city site "Nytvagrad" - your fans will be added and they will also write the words THANKS!
MariV
Lyoshka, yes, the tea is delicious! My husband is very fond of tart teas!
Lyoshka
Big hello to my husband! I myself am not averse to drinking either strong or with a bitterness (tea is meant), but while here I am engaged in fruit issues in the closet and Chinese and Indian teas are resting
MariV
Aha, I will!

LyoshkaAlexey, we, as lovers of everything natural, including tea, are already hanging a medal on your chest, our man! (sorry, but I'm on YOU). Try it, report back, we are interested in everything, any experience. Good luck.

MariV, Olenka, I just saw your recipe! Less than a year ... I'm sorry, but the circumstances were like this - I was sitting without an Internet!
Thank you so much for making this recipe! Now we know that tea can be made from Ivanushka all season - from spring to late autumn. It's so cool! And thanks to Alexey for inspiring you to make this tea! You are so great!
Olenka, I ran to make a link to your tea in the Gazebo on the first page in the first post.
MariV
lappl1, Luda, and nothing terrible happened. Now, after all, no one will make such tea, closer to autumn.

Personally, I will no longer make such tea, as well as from other old, withered leaves.

Yes, the taste is rich and rich, tart, black tea.

But green teas without roasting are more pleasant! I haven't collected fireweed yet, I'll wait until it starts blooming.

Ivan-tea autumn

And we cannot have autumn tea in principle. Last year, on September 15, 2016, I traveled to all "my plots" of Ivan-tea. I remember the date exactly, because there were elections. We needed the roots of Ivan tea. So, I didn't find a single bush.
MariV
Andrey A, Andrei, in my humble opinion and experience, tea from old leaves is not needed - from any. Our ancestors were not fools when they procured young raw materials for drinks. Only the roots were dug in the fall or early spring.

Irisha, and I went to the search engines.

- Why are you here?
- I'm expecting the first frost.
I'll pick up herbs
and then I'll go there.
Herbs before death
my dear, they are filled with poison.

I don't know about the poison (I still need to look), but the Chinese used autumn leaves. "for making the lowest-grade teas for the poor"(quoted from Wu Wei Xin's book" The Encyclopedia of Healing Tea ").

Unfortunately, now I will not check it on Ivan tea myself. And tea made from autumn leaves garden I really like the scent.
MariV
Virgo, taste and color - hereinafter. I like some of the old leaves - I see no obstacles. I do not like.

Googled ... from the musical "Tabor Goes to Heaven". Yeah, almost an encyclopedia of herbs!

Yes, yes, naturally a musical; Alexey Peshkov (Gorky) did nothing but write the libretto for musicals. Here is "Makar Chudra" from the same place, yes .....

Interesting! Astringent tea is more of a "male" drink, you will have to try!
MariV
Yuri K, try it, I like teas from young raw materials more!

Necessarily! Moreover, a parcel is going to me for a tasting from Elena-Borisenok
MariV
Green and yellow teas without roasting are also very tasty and tart, especially when the winter is standing.
