Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker

Ingredients

Dry instant yeast 1.25 tsp
Wheat flour 300 g
Corn grits 130 g
Vegetable oil 30 g
Salt 1.5 tsp.
Sugar 1.5 tsp.
WARM water (35 * С) 280 ml

Cooking method

  • This recipe is based on the recipe Quick bread with semolina in a bread maker from Elena Bo.
  • The recipe is designed for the minimum amount of products that my HP Panasonic can independently stir and bake. The bread is beautiful, fragrant and with a special property: it crumbles in your mouth, not in your hands! True, even the crust is crispy, but crumbly - easy to bite and chew. In this case, the bread crumbles relatively little.
  • Baking mode - "Fast" (I have 2 hours: 15-20 minutes kneading, about 1 hour proofing and 35-40 minutes baking). Size - M. Crust - Dark.
  • A prerequisite for baking bread in the Fast setting is WARM water to speed up the yeast. And further!!! It is imperative to sift the flour and cereals together several times, if the sieve is fine and the cereal does not wake up, wind it. Otherwise, the bread may turn out to be dense and poorly rising.
  • The dough will be a little watery, when kneading the bun is uneven and a puddle is smeared under it - this is normal. Start and end of batch
  • Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker
  • I bake this bread exclusively on the "fast" mode, because during this time the corn grits do not have time to sour.
  • Incision

Time for preparing:

2 hours 10 minutes.

Cooking program:

Bread maker.

Note

For this bread, I use medium-ground plain corn grits or "noble" Polenta, which is available at the time of baking.

I love the fresh crust of this beautiful, aromatic bread in the morning with tea / coffee, just like that or with butter and sprinkle with salt

Bake with pleasure and health!

Waist,

Waist, Natalia, the bread is beautiful!
I want to bake, but I don’t know what grind is. Doesn't the cereal feel in the bread? And then my mischief will not eat.
Thanks for the recipe !!!

the bread turned out beautiful!
Surprisingly, this one it always works like that

Olenka, but it is felt - what are you talking about?
The bread tastes slightly special, well, with corn, although the taste is homogeneous and calm
But the texture will depend on the grinding of your cereal. The larger, the more these grains are felt in the bread. Corn grits do not turn sour like semolina. That's why I like Polenta VERY, I love these grains

I like the taste and texture, I ate it And others ... should try

PS: My husband only loves plain wheat bread. The rest for him is "from compound feed" But even he can eat this corn bread with pleasure several times in a row And my daughter and I love it
Sneg6
Natasha, you can grind the cereal, then it will probably be better? And why do you put a dark crust?
I apologize for many questions.
Waist
Ol, of course you can grind

And I put a dark crust, because we love this. There is no principle here, you can choose to your taste

And thanks for the questions!
No questions - it means ...
If you have questions, it means someone needs
Sneg6
Natasha, put the bread, something completely batter. Maybe add some flour?
Thanks for answers! You can visit me.

When it is spinning, like this, it stops spinning, blurry. That is how it should be?
Yes, it should be so.

Ol, closer to the end of the kneading, you need to look at the thickness of the dough, because it thickens a little in the process. By the look in the photo, you need to add a little flour to make it thicker, but the dough should not completely gather into the bun.

SORIIII, we had a night

I will definitely try this recipe, it is simple and should be delicious.
And I already baked according to a similar recipe, but not on the fast mode, the cereal was ordinary corn 50g, and 50 g of porridge 7 cereals is the one where different flakes (oat, etc.), and water + kefir about half, and at the end of the batch, I added about 1/3 tsp. turmeric and a little dry Provencal herbs. At first I was also frightened, because it seemed that hdeb was not messy, but when it was baked, everyone liked it very much.
They ate everything very quickly!
I will continue to experiment with corn grits and recommend it to everyone, because it is useful.

Hello Natasha!
Thanks for the bread recipe. You know how I love polenta! Ever since the days of ice cream from it.
Waist
Vera M. Try it, I hope you enjoy it. My family loves simple flavors.

Tumanchik, hello, Irish! I haven't read about your bread addictions, everything about ice cream and coffee. But I think you'll like it.

Sneg6
Natasha, I'm showing you bread. The photo is not very good, but here ...

The crust turned out to be thick and the croup came across hard. Maybe the croup is like that. Mine, of course, did not. Next time, grind or replace with cornmeal.
Waist
Ol, The bread did not look bad. I don’t know that the croup was hard. Did you do it with Polenta? It seems like Polenta is steamed cereal, that is, not raw - but a semi-finished product And, in theory, it should not be tough when ready
Ol, I will specially grind and bake with ground Polenta.
Sneg6
Natasha, I don't have polenta, with corn grits. I liked the appearance, most likely my groats are not like that.
I'll buy polenta and try again.
Waist
Quote: Sneg6
Natasha, I have no polenta, with corn grits
Yeah ... that's probably why it was tough

Ol, I also have cereals, I can also try. There is an idea that simple cereals are raw and it takes more time for this cereal / flour to soak / moisten / swell better. You can try on the "Main" 4-hour.
Who would have eaten all my bread, I would have baked without stopping We will not eat so much ourselves, I have already stretched it to the maximum - a loaf a day.

If your family loves an even, subtle texture, can you add cornmeal?

You tell me, if you still bake, how do you do it, I will repeat it too, and then we will compare and find out relations difference and reasons. But this is only if you want
tana33
Natasha, will it go with corn flour?
today in the night I baked a Frenchman, I have already eaten half a roll, I feel I still need to throw a roll in the oven)))
Waist
Tanyush, I think that with corn grits you need to bake at full mode. Polenta it is already cooked and will be completely cooked in a short time, and simple cereals are raw and will need more time.
tana33
Natasha, I have flour, not cereal)))) small, small, yellow))) krasiiiiivaya))))
Waist
Tan, I can't guarantee the result, I haven't baked this bread for a long time. I remember that I had experiments with plain corn flour (grinding from coarse to fine) and it was delicious to ME.
Here HERE Olya baked with coarse flour and her family did not like the result.

Natasha, I baked with this flour already, at the dawn of my HP, according to the instructions))) then the flour ended)))
I can't find instructions, I went to look for recipes, I found you)))
Waist
Do you remember on which mode you baked? And what instruction was that recipe from?
tana33
nope))))

it seems to me that everything will turn out according to your recipe))))
I always succeed)))
and even if it doesn't work out very well, then mine eat EVERYTHING
I baked my first bread when it turned out to be very very very salty, it is impossible to eat
my men giggled and said that it was great for beer))))
Waist
Well try my bake

If you are going to bake on the "Basic" mode - reduce the yeast by a quarter.

Natasha, did not bake it, took out a bag of flour, and there was a bug (((threw out everything nafik (((

I am also grateful to my husband that he does not criticize my flaws in cooking. True, there are not so many of them, but sometimes, as you listen to fussy peasants ...
I liked the recipe, I have to try it, I also immediately wondered why it was on the fast mode, after all, it's cereal. I'll try the usual one. I will report what happens

I tell you how it burned. I washed the groats, I doubted for a long time, but for cereals I always mine, so I didn't sift, washed, and took 100 grams of cereals. Further, 60 g of sourdough. Therefore, I reduced the water by 30 grams, that is, I took 250. Flour according to the recipe.
When the kneading began, well, I looked in, there was porridge in the bucket. I don’t know why it’s so liquid! I added a lot of flour. 3-4 tablespoons.
Baked in 02 mode. Got up great, even the donkey slightly (photo sideways)

Delicious tasty. On the crust, the croup is harsh, feels like grains. And inside it is good, such inclusions are felt, but not hard, but just plump.
Well, what a beautiful color!

Daria, on sourdough I'm glad that I liked the taste

I had to add flour and still the roof fell through, so you washed the cereal and it was already wet. That is, it turned out a bit too much liquid.

Correct the proportions a little more and there will be your worked out recipe
M @ rtochka
If possible, then on "you"
Yes, I also thought about the water in the croup, but on the other hand, there was not much of it there.
And the leaven lives in the refrigerator, I add it slowly where possible). There is no particular trouble with her yet.
Today we ate bread, still delicious ... I didn’t bake it with corn before. And the oven probably also affects, very airy bread!
I'll take note, I'll still bake.
Thank you
TATbRHA
Good bread! Baked, however, not with polenta, but with corn flour (but it will be somewhat coarser than wheat). Instead of vegetable oil, I put in cooking oil - a mixture of beef, goat, chicken and pork. Well the bread rose, delicious. I will certainly still bake this. Waist, Thank you!

Tatyana, To your health!

Yes, corn flour is rougher than wheat flour.

Natalia, thanks a lot for the recipe.
The bread turned out to be wonderful. I love topped bread, so this one is a godsend.
The only thing, instead of water, I used serum. All the time I make homemade cottage cheese, it's a pity to pour out the whey)) I use it for bread.

Finally baked with polenta (not corn grits) and on the fast setting, as in the recipe.
Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker
Only again a lot of liquid, added 2 tbsp. l. flour when kneading.
The bread is interesting, with butter it's very good!
Natalia, thanks again

The roof doesn't know why it's so white. It was necessary to hold it on the heating for a little more, probably.
Waist
Daria, to your health!

I also baked it last week, but just with small corn grits, and the bread turned out to be different in appearance and taste. I haven't photographed it. With a dark crust exposed, the roof turned out to be ruddy, but lighter than the sides.

Dasha, there is not much liquid. Look at your bread: lopsided, the roof is cracked

If you like the taste, try making it strictly according to the recipe, without adding / subtracting liquid. If everything suits you, bake as you bake.
mamusi
Waist, Natashik, I have some Polenta. But ... and if not, can you just try it with corn flour?
And then I bought a package of 1 kg.
Have you tried it? Worse result?
Waist
Rita, with flour, I have not tried it, I don’t know I have cereals - like semolina, 3 calibers, but no flour - they don’t sell But for me in this bread it is the grains and early maturity of bread that are valuable in general. Even the taste of corn is not expressive here.
mamusi
Uh-huh understood, even interesting! I'll try this and that! Then, of course, I will unsubscribe.
Not today. Since I put the dough on the focacia

And today I baked bread according to this recipe, more precisely, almost according to this, since I had only corn flour. We will try it tomorrow. And now it is ripening under the towel. The scent is breathtaking throughout the apartment. I baked white on yogurt in the morning, it didn’t smell so strongly of freshly baked bread. I decided that the bun was a little taut and added a couple of spoons of water, it turned out to be superfluous, the roof turned out to be uneven. If I have time to take a picture in the morning, I will show the result.
Waist
Anna, thanks for trusting the recipe, I hope you enjoy it

And I made French toast from this bread (egg, milk and fry in butter). This is such a deliciousness that it is simply impossible to convey More delicious than any other type of bread.

Irushik, oh, how glad I am. Glad that you are delicious! To your health!

I'll take a note, I'll try too. Thank you for sharing!

I thought and thought and decided to add a photo of my first such bread along with a review. It turned out to be slightly unsightly: Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread makerQuick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker,
but tasty, with an interesting, slightly pronounced corn note in the taste, unlike other breads I have baked before. It so happened that it lasted for three days, and it seemed to me that on the second or third day the bread was tastier, but it crumbled very much. I collected and ate all the crumbs. My husband liked it too, said that sometimes need to and bake it, because corn is very useful and must be included in our diet, and we very rarely and little eat it. So, I will repeat, and I will also try to bake with cereals.
Waist, Natasha, thank you for suggesting ideas for a variety of healthy nutrition

I needed a small loaf, so I baked 2/3 of the norm, added polenta. It turned out to be a wonderful bread, the crust is crispy, the crumb is perforated, chic and super fast. I also set the size "M", the crust is dark.
Natasha Waist, thank you, I will repeat it and will repeatedly be sure!

Quick bread with corn grits Polenta in the Panasonic SD-2500 bread maker

Natasha, she brought some bread. I just baked it, I haven't tried it yet, but the smell is awesome! Slightly changed the technology 7 g of live yeast, wheat flour, salt, sugar and water loaded into a bucket of HP and on the Pelmeni mode for 20 minutes (it could have been less, but I was distracted). The dough turned out to be liquid. I waited about 25 minutes (as if the gluten swelled), then I fell asleep with polenta and switched on the Basic fast mode, dark crust. After starting the batch, I poured in corn oil. I did not break the proportions, honest pioneer! All these dances with a tambourine, so as not to increase the amount of yeast. I ask you not to beat with a broom
Waist
Elya, well, what can be brooms. I'm happy with any variations that don't kill the recipe
The bread is pretty, but made in a new way I wonder what happened

I will wait for the cut and your impressions
