Note

This method of preserving watermelons was taught to me by my neighbor, woman Masha Kaplunovskaya many years ago. I no longer bother buying the required amount of watermelons, but simply use any unsuccessfully purchased watermelon. There were no problems with mathematics at school, so it is not difficult to derive the proportion by products. And it is not a problem to calculate vinegar for a can either. I use a small bank, according to the principle I ate it and do not need to put it in the refrigerator.

Giraffe, Tanya, what an interesting recipe!
and what kind of watermelons do you get?
Giraffe
Well, how can I tell you ... There is a taste of watermelon. Slightly sweet, slightly salty, slightly sour. I asked the children, they found it difficult to answer ... They said to write deliciously and that's it
You can not take 10 kg and try on much smaller volumes in order to understand yours or not.
Giraffe
I don’t understand why the first photo, which is the main thing, is not put big ... I take the link from the first line.

Excellent and very timely recipe! Thank you, Tatyana!
Giraffe
Galina, these photos were taken on August 15, 2013. This is what I was planning for so long. And the photo of lace pancakes on squirrels has already gone through three carnival.

Giraffe, Tatyana, are these watermelons stored in the apartment or do you need a basement?
Giraffe
It is possible in the apartment. In any case, I, a couple of jars, have been on the cupboard for two years and we always forget about them.

Vinegar - 70% ??? And can you replace it with lemon juice, and how much is needed then?
Giraffe
I haven't made a replacement, so I can't say. Probably focus on taste. But I can't give a guarantee.

Tatyana, it is a pity that this recipe did not catch my eye in time. If such a mistake happens with a watermelon, then you can try. Interested in true taste. I was somehow tempted by the recipe for pickled plums. I thought about making some portions, but mine didn't like it. And me very much.

An interesting recipe.

You can specify which jar to sterilize for 35 minutes and 1 hour. l. vinegar in which jar?
Giraffe
And here is how the output in banks is written as for each can and lila. And for small ones, it's just proportional. By the way, open cans can stand in the refrigerator for a long time. So you can safely roll into large ones.
LanaG
Tatyana, that is, sterilize 3 liters for 35 minutes?

Do not wrap and turn over?
Giraffe
In principle, it is not necessary, but when I did it ... I did not see the difference.

We don't have 70% vinegar anywhere. This is probably not even vinegar, but an essence? So she is nowhere to be found. Maybe someone tried to do it on the usual 9% vinegar? Please share how many lilies what happened.

The recipe is interesting. But I would like to be specific. 1h l vinegar for which jar? 500ml? 700? 300?

For some reason, at first I decided that 1 spoon per liter jar, but now having carefully reread everything from cover to cover, I already doubt it. There are 4 spoons in the ingredients, and the output is written: about three liter cans and one two liter. Then you need 5 spoons, no?
Giraffe
Well, that's how I was given the recipe, for such a quantity and displacement of cans, so I wrote it. You can simply count on your number and displacement.
I did so when I procured it not according to the recipe, but after the purchase of a watermelon, which does not suit my taste.
