Ingredients

For one serving of dumplings (large enough, 4-5 pieces):
juice of 1 orange (if the sauce is orange); 100 ml water or milk (if the sauce is creamy)
sugar (if there is brown - even better) 1h l.
orange zest (for orange sauce) 0.5h l.
butter 20-30gr
vanilla sugar

I wondered how to save myself and not eat boiled cottage cheese-dough gruel, even if they burst. The amount of water must be kept to a minimum! And experiments began. So I came to life like this: cooking dumplings in sauce.
  • My favorites: in orange juice and creamy. But I will not restrain your imagination. You can cook in cherry, for example, I tried. Such vigorous cherry ones are obtained both in color and taste - tin!))) Moreover, you can not catch cherries (if thawed, for example), right with them, just add water to the required volume ...
  • So let's get started, my fighting friends:
  • 1. Estimate how many pieces you will cook. For this amount, we need dishes: a stewpan or a deep frying pan, where the required number of dumplings will fit quite well, without a heap of free space (otherwise the liquid will be overkill: in order for it to hide the dumplings by half, you will have to pour in a lot, and then to evaporate it - boil dumplings), but not in 2 layers.

  • 2. Orange: Squeeze the juice from the required amount of oranges (in my photo - 2 servings and juice of 2 oranges, respectively). It is better to strain the juice. The pulp does not bother us, of course, but here are the bones ..
  • Creamy - pour in milk or water (for one serving of dumplings about 100 ml to begin with).
  • Put butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, orange zest (for orange) in the liquid. Put on fire and let it boil.

  • 3. Put the dumplings in the boiled sauce. The liquid should hide them by about half or 2/3. If you do not have enough fluid, top up. Put it in a boiled liquid with oil, and do not pour them, otherwise they can stick to the bottom and break. Immediately start shaking the pan from side to side to avoid sticking. And do it often.

  • 4. Cover with a lid for just a couple of minutes (to steam the upper protruding part), open and cook over medium heat until the sauce boils down (at normal boil). It's fast, don't go anywhere and shake the pan. Sometimes I also pour dumplings on the side a little, so that they boil the scallops too.
