Meatballs in basil (spinach, black currant)

Ingredients

Minced meat - beef or poultry 300 gr.
Processed cheese 50 g
Salt, spices, garlic, sugar
Large basil leaves
Large spinach leaves
Young leaves of black currant
Fresh tomato
Fresh homemade thick yogurt

Cooking method

  • Let's prepare the minced meat. Better, of course, good beef. But the bird won't let you down either. Take and fill it with salt (be careful, there will still be salty cheese), sugar, spices, garlic. Knead well. Let's rub it into minced meat or knead the processed cheese. We need fresh basil and preferably with large leaves ... Spinach and black currant - look younger leaves. Let's boil water. Scald the spinach and currant leaves for softness. You don't need to scald the basil. Now with a small spoon, constantly wetting it, we collect the minced meat and wrap it in leaves. We string on skewers or toothpicks. Grease the grill pan or electric grill with vegetable oil and heat it up. We fry our skewers on one side and the other.
  • Meatballs in basil (spinach, black currant)
  • Put it on a dish. Serve with tomato and fresh, thick homemade yogurt.
  • Wonderful food by mouth. The most it is for a summer day.

Irin, I make such things, I just wrap them in wild garlic leaves (basil leaves somehow seem too small to me) and bake them.
I vote with both hands that this is a good way to diversify the menu.
By the way, I like them more cold, as a snack.

Thank you very much Olya for maintaining the recipe. There are varieties of basil with really large leaves. Of the three options, basil still tasted best to me. I see ramson as they sell, but somehow I never bought it. An omission on my part - you cannot create beauty out of something. I have been cooking from black currant leaves for a long time. Mini duckies in currant leaves under sour cream and soy sauce in a multicooker OURSSON MP5005PSD... And I always freeze them for the winter. I love currant leaves - just melt from the smell. To your two hands I join mine and my household!
Yesterday I didn't have enough strength to eat so much - today I had breakfast with this particular snack. With a coffee, they went fine.

Thank you) Let's try to do it. The idea for currant leaves is great. Young ones can be used right away, but June ones can and can be preserved, it makes sense, like grapes in the Caucasus.

Olga, especially for you, take a photo of freshly acquired basil
a huge cutlet will screw into such leaves, not like a ball
