Spinach Cake

Ingredients

Cakes:
Condensed milk 1 can (370 g)
Wheat flour 1 or in / grade 650 g
Egg 2 pcs.
Baking powder 1 tsp
Spinach (I have frozen) 180 g
Salt pinch
Cream:
Milk 700 g
Sugar 170-200 g
Egg 2 pcs.
Flour 2 tbsp. l.
Butter 100 g
Vanillin in dough and cream taste
Salt pinch
Cocoa powder 3 tbsp. l. with a slide

Cooking method

  • Cakes:
  • Puree spinach with eggs in a blender.
  • Mix flour with baking powder.
  • Mix all the ingredients by kneading the dough. The dough is soft.
  • Divide the dough into pieces, roll out thinly.
  • Cut circles with a lid or plate.
  • Transfer the dough to a sheet covered with baking paper.
  • We bake the cakes at a temperature of 200 degrees for 7-10 minutes.
  • Cream:
  • Grind eggs with sugar and cocoa. Add flour and dilute with a little cold milk.
  • Boil the milk.
  • In a thin stream with constant stirring. Pour the egg-flour mixture into the milk. Let it boil.
  • When the cream begins to thicken, add the oil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Cover with cling film so that it touches the cream and let cool.
  • Lubricate the cakes with cream.
  • Decorate as you wish. I just crushed one cake and sprinkled on top and sides.
  • Let the cake stand for at least 24 hours.
  • Spinach Cake
  • Enjoy your tea!

Note

The recipe is taken from the Cook website. RU. at Marioka82. Thanks for the recipe.
My changes. I made the baked goods in the oven (the author suggests on the stove in a frying pan). I took the first grade flour and it took me much more. I added oil to the cream (the author has no oil). The cake is not very sweet (if you put 170 grams of sugar, like mine). The taste is interesting. After a day, the cakes became soft. Therefore, I advise you to endure this time.

How I love such pastries!
I haven't tried spinach in the cake yet - its combination with cocoa is interesting. And the taste cannot be described - complex, apparently?
Angel, you are great, you have time for everything!

What an interesting recipe Angela! This is what you surprised me! I haven’t come across such a cake filler yet ...
I'm sure of one thing: it's delicious! Otherwise you wouldn't have brought this cake here.
I guess?
And ... I so love not pretentious cakes! They are so cozy! Such homemade!

Not very sweet, peculiar, but it needs to stand.

I don't have time, but I try.

ang-kay, Angel, that surprised!
I know - where the current spinach is not adapted, but that in the cake.
Will definitely try for my spinach lovers!
Thank you !

Ksyusha, to your health! I think you will like it if you like spinach.

Great! I have not tried this before. Every spring I traditionally bake sweet sorrel pies, but I haven't thought of spinach!

Oksana, and I never baked with sorrel! But I was told that in Western Ukraine dumplings are cooked with it and the taste is the same as with strawberries. But I somehow did not dare to try it. I only cook borsch with it. Is it true that the taste of the filling is similar to strawberries?

No, it doesn't look like strawberries at all. Tastes like sour apples. I sometimes do that: interspersed with apples. I will find a photo - I will post it. Delicious! I cook every spring.
