Philips provided me with a Philips HD3197 multicooker for testing

The peculiarity of the configuration of this model is that it not included ladle and spoon... There is only a steam basket and a measuring cup (made of transparent plastic marked> PP <180ml up to the top and 160ml on the scale) and a power cord (by the way, it is white). Regarding the lack of spoons, I can say that this is even good - inexperienced users will not be tempted to use them - plastic spoons / spatulas leave slight scratches on the surface of the bowl, instead of them it is better to use silicone or soft wood.
Multicooker Philips HD3197
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Steam basket unusual - double, maybe as a hinged basket, and as a steam stand on legs
The diameter of the hanging basket inside is 20.5 cm at the top, 20 cm at the bottom, the diameter of the steam stand is 17.8 cm.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The main difference between HD3197 and other multicooker is that it implements new heating technology - VitaPlus with two heating elements (or rather with double heating element) to heat the bottom of the bowl more evenly.
Outwardly, the new technology of double heating elements does not manifest itself in any way.
The heating element is coated.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Cap. 3197, as well as 3095, removable cover... You can remove it by simply pulling it up.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Valve, same as 3095, removable from the insidehowever, it has a slightly different internal shape.

Bowl... Very similar to the 3095. It has the same shape inside and out. there is comfortable handles (do not heat up when the bowl is heated). Ceramic coating, ProKeram, judging by the similarity in HD3095, durable and easy to care for... Plating unusual with gold. If it is not so noticeable in a dry bowl, then the coating shimmers with a golden shine under water. Very nice. Thick-walled bowl - like 3095, 6mm... Severe -1.6KG. Bowl height 15.1cm. Girth under the handles 69.05cm. Bottom diameter inside approx. 16cm... Bowl at 3197 with a volume of 5 liters. Let me remind you that 3095 has a 4 liter bowl.

Touch control panel. Responds very well. The heating can be turned off before the start of the mode and turned on after its end... The heating cannot be turned off while the program is running. The "Menu" sensor selects modes. The display then shows the default cooking time. The time can be changed in all modes, except for "Rice" and "Plov. In the modes" Oven "and" Multipovar "the temperature can also be changed.temperature range from 30 ° С to 160 ° С. The mode is started by a three-second touch to the "Start" sensor.

In the operating mode, "Start" and "Heating" are lit (if it is not disabled). The display shows the selected mode, the time until it ends and in the upper left corner the word "On". The countdown of the time in the modes begins after reaching the operating temperature or immediately.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The 3197 has added not only to the volume of the bowl, but also to the variety of modes. There were "Soup", "Eggs / Pasta", "Omelet", "Drinks", "Pizza", "Jellied meat", "Tomit", "Bake".
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The peculiarity of this model is also that when the heating is turned on at the end of the mode, the "Heating" light is off, and on the display, in addition to the "On" indicator, the "Heating" indicator appears and there is a direct minute-by-minute countdown of the heating time.

When steaming the multicooker for the first time in the "Cook / Steam" mode, I forgot to steam the steam basket. I put it in the bowl and turned on the "Eggs / Pasta" mode. After the water boiled, a signal sounded, after another and another. The countdown has not started. After the third signal, the multicooker turned off. Until I understood the principle of this mode. Let's check it later.

Of some I did not notice any foreign smell from the device... There was a slight smell during the first start. But he very quickly disappeared, barely having time to appear. I didn't even have time to recognize its nature.

The signal is nice melodic, but loud enough.

Overall, the multicooker made a very good impression. Practice will show how it works.

Mannochka, congratulations, I will be happy to follow the topic!

Interestingly, I will follow the topic. Love reviews from Mann

By design, everything I like.
No plastic spatulas are good too.

What a terrible color!
Is the color awful? Than? She is black. In the sense of black plastic (glossy, "fingers" remain), and the metal part gives a little brownish-gray, but also in black tones.
Ofeliya
She's so ... black. I will follow the testing with interest.
Manna, I'm looking at Philips began to produce multicooker coated with ProKeram. How does it behave in the future? Does it become sticky like all ceramic coatings or not?
Manna
Olga, for a very long term I cannot say yet. But in 3095 this coating showed itself very well. In operation, it behaves like a high-quality non-stick. What will happen to him in a year is difficult to say now - I have not used it so much yet.

Yes, Phillips has recently started producing black multicooker.

Usually, ceramics begins to take over after six months of operation. It is very interesting to know how these bowls will behave. The past ones, bronze ones, are very good.
Manna
Yes, the Daikin coated bowls are very good. I haven't used these "ceramic" ones for half a year yet. I cannot say yet what will happen to them.
Manna
Today I accidentally checked saving the program during a power outage... Preserves for 4 hours minimum. When the electricity supply is restored, the program continues.

Test one. Soup mode.

Vegetable pea soup with sprouted lentils (Philips multicooker HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

Put the peas (previously soaked for 10-12 hours) in the multicooker bowl. Pour 1 liter of cold water. Soup mode 1 hour.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

After 10 minutes from the start of the mode, the water boils, and the countdown begins (all these 10 minutes the display "runs a snake"). At first, the boiling is quite active, the foam slightly rose from the peas, which I immediately removed (in the photo on the walls you can see how the foam rose).
Multicooker Philips HD3197

After 1 hour, add vegetables to the peas. Again the "Soup" mode for 1 hour (less).
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the regime, pour the soup into bowls, add vegetable oil, sprouted lentils, herbs.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

In general, I can say that I liked the "Soup" mode with its algorithm. At first, the liquid is heated to an active boil, and then the temperature of a "low fire" is maintained with a barely noticeable boil.
Manna
The second test. "Porridge" mode.

Spicy porridge made from sprouted rice with milk (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

1 3 / 4d. Fill a glass of sprouted rice with cold water. I filled in 4d. stcn. I was counting on more active boiling, which is typical for this mode in those Philips multicooker that I use. But for HD3197 this turned out to be a lot, since boiling in this mode is very soft, barely noticeable. Therefore, it is better to pour 2.5-3 measurements for this model. stcn. cold water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the regimen, you can make both salty and sweet from the resulting porridge. I made a sweet one. Add the necessary ingredients, mix and leave on heating until the desired consistency.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The "Porridge" mode in this model pleasantly surprised me. He really became a regime for milk porridge - the boil, one might say, is not even noticeable. Milk should not run. Although, of course, you can test this mode with milk.
Rituslya
Mannochka, very interesting. Thank you very much for your review. I am just choosing a cartoon for a gift, so it's very important. If it's not difficult for you, please test the "Porridge" with milk and "Baking" mode. These programs, I think, will be the most popular in the gift.
And yet, I read that
Quote: Manna
The time can be changed in all modes, except "Rice" and "Plov. In the modes" Oven "and" Multipovar "you can also change the temperature.
Is it before the launch of these programs, or can you correct it in the process?
Manna
Rituslya, one of these days I will check "Porridge" with milk. Bakery products? In the same place, the temperature changes in steps of 10 ° C, you can bake at 110 ° C, 120 ° C, 130 ° C. But in any case, I will bake, however, I do not know when. And the time and temperature change before the start mode, they cannot be changed in the process.
Rituslya
Manna,Yes understood. Thank you. Anyway, I will look forward to pastries and milk porridge. As it turned out with us, these are one of the most demanded programs.
Manna
Third test. "Drinks" mode.

Immunostimulating and tonic vitamin drink (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

Pour the mixture into the multicooker bowl. Fill it with 1 liter of cold water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

"Drinks" mode. We want the mixture to just boil. Any mode with boiling can be selected here.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

As soon as the liquid has boiled, turn off the mode. We choose either heating, or languishing, or a multi-cook at 70-80 ° C for 1 hour (more is possible). Or pour the mixture into a thermos and insist it in a thermos. This is exactly what I usually do - I insist in a thermos for a day.

The result is a concentrate that I dilute.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Honestly, the "Drinks" mode surprised me with such an active boil. True, I did not wait for what was laid down in the further algorithm (I just had enough liquid boiling - 1 liter in 5-6 minutes). Perhaps this mode is suitable for dried fruit compote. It will be necessary to try this mode again, at least to observe the further development of events, at least just on the water.
Manna
The fourth test. Soup mode.

Sudachi chowder with dried mushrooms (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

Clean the pike perch, leaving the fins, tail, head. If there is a fear of scratching the bowl cover, it is better to cut out the dorsal fin. We put the pike perch in the bowl. Fill with water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The "Soup" mode is 40-50 minutes. In this case, the water in my case boiled after half an hour.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

After the end of the regime, remove the pike perch from the broth, cool and free the meat from the bones.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Put vegetables and mushrooms in the broth. Salt. We mix.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Soup mode 1 hour (or less). 10 minutes before the end of the regime, put the pike perch fillet in the soup.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the regime, pour the soup into bowls, sprinkle with herbs and you can eat.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The bowl passed the zander test. I was very worried that the coating would be damaged by the sharp fins. But no, everything worked out.
The "Soup" mode still makes me happy. There is no violent boiling, but boiling is still present. The mode is temperature balanced. A very good algorithm.
RepeShock

How they mentally lie in your bowl
Manna
This is how the fisherman laid them
Manna
Fifth test. "Porridge" mode.

Spicy milk drink (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Preparing a milk drink. About him in the recipe for link, and here I will tell you about testing the mode with milk itself.

Pour 300-400ml milk into a multicooker. We turn on the "Porridge" mode for 5 minutes.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The milk did not boil either when entering the mode (at the beginning of the countdown), or for 5 minutes.
I started the mode again. Again, there was no boiling either at the start of the countdown or for 10 minutes. At the end of the regime for the second time, the milk had light bubbles on the surface, but there was no boiling.
Therefore, I concluded that the milk would not run in this mode, once the milk did not boil in the first 10-15 minutes. Probably, boiling is incorporated into the algorithm of the regime at later stages, when escape is no longer possible.

At the end of the regime, the bowl looked like this - it was a milk film at the bottom of it.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

I filled the bowl with water for 5 minutes, and the film came off easily, I didn't have to wipe it at all.

Manna
The sixth test. Egg / Pasta mode.

Multicooker Philips HD3197

I tested the regime on eggs. I put 4 eggs in the bowl on a napkin (I removed the napkin in the process - it was not silicone, light, floated when boiling). Filled with water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Egg / Pasta mode 6 minutes. I closed the lid. But, since it is indicated in the recipe book that this mode should proceed with the lid open, I opened it 5 minutes after the start of the mode, when the water had already warmed up, but had not yet boiled.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The countdown did not start in any way. I decided to close the lid. And literally within a minute the beeps started. After the first one, I opened the lid. There was a very intense boil. The first signal was followed by a second. But the countdown did not begin. And the third final signal of the end of the regime. I still did not understand what the principle of this mode was. My eggs were already boiled by that time ...
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Who has what version of the algorithm of this mode?
Larssevsk
Manna, the first signal - you can throw eggs for cooking. The second signal is that the eggs are soft-boiled or in a bag. The third signal is that the eggs are hard boiled.
This is my version
Manna
Laris, but I did not specifically cut the video with signals, that is, they go both in time in the video and in reality. Do you think the egg will have time to go through all the stages so quickly? And why then change the cooking time if the countdown never comes?
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Mannyash, and how long did the boil last? More precisely, how long did the mode work after the first peak? Not detected?
It also seems to me that the first signal is to add pasta. But the second one - I don't know, maybe add oil to
Manna
I say, in the video I didn't cut anything between the signals, as time went on, so in the video: the first signal at 1:28, the second at 1:49, the third at 2:18. That is, less than a minute passed from the first signal to the third. The pasta will definitely not have time to cook during this time.
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Strange! Listen, could it be that this time the mode worked with an error? Just imagine, the water 💦 boiled and boiled, we fall asleep pasta, the bubbling subsides. And here once it was boiling violently, she squeaked again, well, maybe you left for the first time and did not hear. And it boils again. Here's a cartoon and decided that they just forgot about her and passed out. After all, this is purely theoretically possible? Check it again, but on pasta, huh?
Manna
Quote: Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Listen, could it be that this time the mode worked with an error?
Already two such times. I described the first case at the end of the first review.
Quote: Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
well, maybe you went away for the first time and didn't hear
I was sitting a meter away from the multicooker, waiting for what would happen.

When the lid is open, there are no signals and time readings at all. As I close, the boiling intensifies, a signal sounds, etc. according to the scenario already described twice.

The only option that I see for another check is to wait with the lid open, what will happen, not to close it at all.
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
It seems more logical to me this scenario: pour cold water, close the lid, set the mode. As the water boils, the cartoon gives a signal. You open the lid, pour in noodles, dumplings or something else, and without closing the lid, cook until the signal. After all, if you close it, there will be foam that will flood everything around. Isn't that so? Well, try not to close it. You don't need boiled eggs anymore?
Manna
Quote: Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
This scenario seems more logical to me.
It seems logical to me too. But the device has some other logic.
Quote: Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
You open the lid, pour in noodles, dumplings or something else, and without closing the lid, cook until the signal.
Well, yes, such an algorithm was in 3095 in the steaming mode, and in this 3197 it was also in the steaming mode just such an algorithm. And the mode "Eggs / Pasta" is somehow conceived differently.
Quote: Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Don't you need any more boiled eggs?
Yes, you can just try it on the water, you don't have to cook something. It's just that I have trouble with time now - I have not been able to drive the device in vain. I also wanted to check "Drinks". But so far, it still does not.
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Not, Mann, to the empty - this is to drive it to the empty. It is necessary to fall asleep something after boiling in order to exclude any mistakes.
Manna
Okay, I persuaded, one of these days I will try to cook macaros.
Manna
Seventh test. Steam cooking mode.

I cooked diced vegetables for salad in a hinged steam basket. Since it has rather large holes, I put aluminum foil in it and made small holes in it. And already on top I laid vegetables - carrots and potatoes.I poured 1 liter (0.5 liter is enough) of cold water into the bowl.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Steam cooking mode 20 minutes. First, the display "runs a snake", and after boiling water and a sound signal, the time starts counting.
At the end of the mode, the vegetables are ready.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

There are no deviations or failures in the mode. Everything is strictly according to the algorithm. Boiling is active. The lid is closed during the whole mode.

Manna
Eighth trial. Oven mode.

Apple-oatmeal gingerbread (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

We knead the dough. Grease the bowl with oil. We spread the dough into it and level it.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Oven mode 120 ° С 50 minutes.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the mode, turn the gingerbread over and again to the "Oven" mode 120 ° C for 20 minutes.

In general, I can say that the bottom is baked evenly. The only thing I noticed is a small, more ruddy speck on one side. It is barely noticeable, visible if only peering. Condensation occurs when baked goods are wet. It flows down the side of the bowl when you open the lid, but it does not drip onto the baked goods either during the process or at the end when you open it.
ne_peku
Quote: Manna

It seems logical to me too. But the device has some other logic.
Maybe the logic of the "pasta" mode is like in Redmond M90 on "macaroni". There is no time counting at first, water boiled, a signal sounded - the multicooker called to throw pasta into the bowl. Thrown, pressed the "start" button again, the countdown has started, then the program is executed according to the time set at the beginning.
That is, the multicooker beeps (and even three times so that they do not forget about it), waiting for a continuation in the form of a kick on the "start" button.

Manna
Quote: ne_peku
They threw it, pressed the "start" button again
Start again? It may very well be ... Something I have not thought about it. Somehow not typical for Philips tactics. There is nothing about this in the instructions. The usual algorithm is described there: boil, sound signal, start of count, end of the mode. We must try with "Start" ... Thanks for the idea
Manna
Test ninth. "Omelet" mode.

Quail omelette with baked milk (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

Pour the mixture into the multicooker bowl, which we pre-grease with olive oil.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Omelette mode 20 minutes. This omelet is enough for 15 minutes.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The result is a delicate, porous omelette with a slight blush.
The taste of baked milk is "caramel".
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

I noticed that there was also a small ruddy speck at the bottom of the omelet (it just got into the frame), the rest of the bottom of the omelet does not have such an obvious ruddy (perhaps this is also because the middle was swollen during the baking process, but on the outside too there is no such blush). I believe that in this place the heating elements (there are two rings of them) heat a little more. On baked goods, this is hardly noticeable, on the omelet it was more pronounced.
Manna
Test tenth. Steaming and Soup modes.

Vegetarian borscht (lean) with prunes (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

First, steam the beets. Pour approx. 500 ml of water. Installing the steam rack. On her beets.
Steam mode. I set 50 minutes to check the time limits for such a volume of liquid in this mode.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

50 minutes with 500 ml of water on Steam is the limit. It is better not to bring the cup to this.
But, fortunately, she washed herself very easily, without any effort at all.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

In a clean bowl, in stages, every 15 minutes, I put different vegetables, depending on the duration of their preparation. At the initial stage, she poured a little more than one liter of cold water. At the end of the regime, I added approx. 700 ml of boiling water.
Soup mode 1 hour.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the mode, I put in the rest of the food and started the Soup mode again to bring the liquid to a boil. After that, the mode was turned off.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Steaming and Soup modes are working correctly. I have already checked it many times. I am satisfied with the algorithms of the programs in these modes. The only thing I want to warn you again: maximum allowable time for "Steam cooking" when using the lower steam rack with 500 ml of liquid in the bowl - 50 minutes, preferably 40-45 minutes.
Manna
Test eleventh. Eggs / Pasta and Multi-Cook modes.

Another way to cook pasta with and without light frying (Philips multicooker HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

I wanted to boil pasta, as we agreed with Ksenia, for "Eggs / Pasta".
She poured water. I closed the lid. I turned on the mode for 10 minutes. At the first beep, she opened the lid. There is no countdown. And here is the second signal. And again there is no countdown. And then the third one arrived in time with the end of the regime.

What to do? Drained off excess water. I fell asleep pasta. Salted. She poured olive oil. Included "Multipovar" at 120 ° С and 20 minutes... Stirred twice: 10 minutes from the beginning and 5 minutes before the end of the regimen. The pasta is lightly fried.

"Multipovar" is working properly. Well, the "Eggs / Pasta" remains to be checked only using the "Start" sensor at the first / second sound signal ...

Test twelfth. "Fry" and "Stew / Stew" modes.

Vegetable stew with meat (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

Pour oil into the bowl (spread over the entire surface of the bottom - this is important, since the bowl has a ceramic coating). Fry mode. We warm up the bowl and put the meat in it. Fry. I fried it for 5 minutes on the one hand, and 2 minutes on the other.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

We lay the vegetables cut into strips. We add. Sprinkle with spices. We mix. Stew / Stew mode 1 hour.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

In an hour, the stew is ready.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The frying is intense, blush beautifully, does not burn (if you do not forget, of course). Stewing is soft, no boiling. The vegetables were not very juicy, but at the end of the regime there was even a little broth left at the bottom of the bowl. I liked both modes, they work correctly, the algorithms are debugged.
Manna
Test thirteenth. Modes "Eggs / Pasta", "Pilaf", "Steaming", "Stewing".

Cabbage rolls with mushrooms and yachts (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

First, we prepare the filling.

Pour vegetable oil into the bowl. Putting the ingredients for pilaf / porridge with mushrooms.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

We fall asleep with washed cereals. Fill with cold water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Pilaf mode. This mode is touch-sensitive. The default time is very arbitrary. In this case (with 1.5 mst of cereal and 3 mst of water), the regime lasted 1 hour. The countdown started 10 minutes before the end. There was no free liquid at the bottom. The pilaf / porridge is completely ready. The mode algorithm includes light frying at the end of the program.

If we want to get barley pilaf with mushrooms and vegetables, then water is needed in a ratio of 1: 1 or 1: 1.3. But we need exactly the porridge so that the filling does not crumble.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Next, pour water (300-500 ml) into a clean bowl, install a steam stand and spread the leaves of Peking cabbage on it.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Steam cooking mode 5 minutes.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

This mode works properly according to the algorithm: the liquid boils, a sound signal, the time starts counting).
I also checked the "Eggs / Pasta" mode in order to check if the countdown starts after "pressing" on "Start" after the beeps. But, as it turned out, the "Start" sensor does not respond at all during the operation of this mode. I could not even turn off this mode until it turned itself off with the third beep. Therefore, I have only one conclusion - this mode does not work correctly in my copy, that is, its operation does not correspond to the description in the instructions (recipe book), but it should work in the same way as the "Steam cooking" mode.

I put the cabbage rolls in the bowl. Poured them with sauce
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Stew mode 1 hour.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the mode, cabbage rolls can be served.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The "Stew" mode is soft. There is no violent boil. The contents of the bowl are gently stewed for the allotted time. The sauce / broth remained in the bowl, did not boil away.

Manna
Test fourteenth. Rice / Cereals mode.

Corn porridge with honey and banana (multicooker Philips HD3197) (Manna)

Multicooker Philips HD3197

Details of the recipe for link, and here I will describe the nuances that are important from the point of view of testing the device.

We wash the corn grits. We pour it into a bowl. Fill with water. 1 mst of cereal per 2 mst of water.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Rice / Cereals mode.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

At the end of the regime, portionwise add honey, banana and liquid to the desired consistency of porridge.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The "Rice / Cereals" mode, like the "Pilaf", is touch-sensitive - it lasts until all the liquid has evaporated. At the end of the regime, all the liquid has completely evaporated. The difference from the "Pilaf" mode is that there is no frying at the end of the mode, just drying.
Manna
Test fifteenth. Final. Modes "Kefir / Yogurt", "Multi-cook: 40 ° С, 60 ° С, 70 ° С, 90 ° С", "Tomit", "Drinks", "Jellied", Heating (automatic heating)

This time, over time, I have quite a tension. But I still decided to measure the actual temperatures in several modes.

I took measurements as follows. I poured 3 liters of cold water into the bowl. She removed the valve from the inside. I installed a temperature probe through the opening of the valve and closed the remaining open space of the valve with a cotton pad. This manipulation with the valve and the temperature probe was carried out in order to reduce heat loss, so as not to open the lid during the operation of the modes.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

The first regime was Kefir / Yogurt... The initial water temperature was 25.5 ° C. Measurements were made every half hour. After the first half hour, the water temperature was 32.8 ° C. The next half hour is 36.2 ° C. Another half hour and the water temperature reached 36.6 ° C... This is the operating temperature of this mode. Although the temperature was still rising a little. So after another half hour, I recorded the temperature at 36.8 ° C. And after another half hour, it is already 36.3 ° C. Then again 36.8 ° C. T. e the operating temperature fluctuation was 0.5 ° C in this mode... Such a temperature of 36.6 ° C is more suitable for low-temperature sour milk - kefir, for example. Still not enough for yoghurt.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Therefore, the second regime was Multicook at 40 ° C... I took measurements for 2 hours. Also in half an hour increments. The initial water temperature was 36.8 ° C. Then after half an hour - 38.8 ° C. After another half hour - 39.1 ° C. I noticed that as soon as the temperature drops to 38.8 ° С, the heating elements turn on and understand the temperature up to 39.3 ° С... That is, the temperature fluctuations in the mode were 0.5 ° C. As for fermentation of sour milk in this mode, it is perfect for yogurt.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The next mode was again Multicook at 60 ° C... Measurements were made for 2 hours. Also at half hour intervals. The initial water temperature was 27.7 ° C. After half an hour, the water was already at a temperature of 57.2 ° C. After another half hour - 59.9 ° C. Further - 60.6 ° C. That is, we can say that the operating temperature corresponds to the declared one and is kept in the area 60.2 ° С with a deviation of ± 0.35 ° С... In this mode, you can cook chicken breasts using the sous vide technology with their further grilling.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Then I measured the actual temperatures in the mode Multicook at 70 ° C... Measurements were made for 2 hours. Also in half an hour increments. The initial water temperature was 36.4 ° C. This is how the water cooled overnight in a multicooker with the lid closed from 60 ° C. After half an hour, the water warmed up to 65.5 ° C. After another half hour - up to 70.9 ° C. Further - 71.3 ° C. The maximum temperature that I managed to record after turning on the heating elements is 71.8 ° C. That is, the actual operating temperature in this mode fluctuates around 71.4 ° C ± 0.4 ° C... This mode can be used for cooking meat using sous vide technology. True, it will dry out a little.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The next was the regime Multicook at 90 ° C... Measurements were made for 2 hours. Also in half an hour increments. The initial water temperature was 49.7 ° C. After half an hour, the temperature rose to 88.5 ° C. And after another half an hour - up to 91.9 ° C. After another half hour - 92.2 ° C. This was the temperature maximum in this mode. So, the operating temperature in this mode is 92 ° C ± 0.1-0.2 ° C... I noticed a tendency that the higher the declared heating temperature, the more the actual temperature deviates towards excess: if at the declared 40 ° С the actual temperature was about 39 ° С, then at 90 ° С - the actual temperature is already 92 ° С. Closest declared and actual temperature at 60 ° C.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Then I checked Heating after Multi-cook at 90 ° C. After half an hour, the temperature was 87.8 ° C. After another half hour, 82.8 ° C. Further - 78.9 ° C. And then the temperature was kept about 75 ° C. At a temperature of 74.8 ° C, heating of the heating elements was switched on.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

The next was the regime Languish... I took measurements for 2 hours. Also in half an hour increments. The initial water temperature was 23.7 ° C. After half an hour, the temperature reached 78.5 ° C.After another half hour - 80.7 ° C. Further - 81.2 ° C. The maximum temperature that I managed to fix in this mode after heating the heating elements is 81.3 ° C. That is, the actual temperature in the mode is 81 ° C ± 0.3 ° C.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

Then I watched the boiling regimes. These were Drinks and Aspic.

At first The drinks. Countdown this mode starts after boiling liquids. After within 3-5 minutes the liquid is actively boiling, and then gradually the temperature begins to drop. By the end of the 30-minute regime, the temperature was 90.9 ° С.
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Further Jelly... In this mode, the countdown starts immediately, but when boiling the multicooker serves liquids sound signal. Boiling lasts about 5-7 minutes... Then the temperature drops to 89.1 ° C. Then the heating elements turn on, and it begins maintaining the temperature in the region of 89.3 ° С.
Multicooker Philips HD3197 Multicooker Philips HD3197

I also wanted to talk about how this multicooker performs perfectly thermos function... I cooked dinner and left it unheated with the lid closed. After 3-4 hours, we could only eat it. So there was no need to heat it, the dish was hot. Apparently, this is due to the thick-walled bowl - it keeps heat longer.

And finally, I wanted to tell you about the bowls. I have a 5 liter Philips HD3737 / 03 bowl with Daikin non-stick coating. Very persistent, proven over the years. The bowl fits perfectly into the multicooker body and sat on the heating element. At the same time, the lid closes well. The only thing is that I have not tried to cook with her. But I think there will be no surprises here. Unless it will heat up (and cool down faster) faster than thick-walled "ceramics".
Multicooker Philips HD3197

Manna
Yesterday I tried the non-stick bowl. Fried meat in it, and then stewed it.
First, I warmed up the bowl, and after 4 minutes on one side, the meat almost burned out - ruddy was at the limit.
Multicooker Philips HD3197
That is, the temperature in this (thin) bowl is higher than in the native (thick) one.
Then I stewed the meat, but here I did not notice anything special.
Manna
So, conclusions on testing multicooker Philips HD3197.

As I said earlier, this multicooker is different from the Philips multicooker line. She has heavy multi-layer bowl with handles and ceramic coating and double heating element. If we compare the heating rate of models HD3095 (single heating element and thick-walled bowl) and HD3197 (double heating element and thick-walled bowl), then the second one heats up faster. The bowl of the 3197 has the same coating as the 3095. But it seemed to me (perhaps this is just a feature of the specimen) that the coating of the 3095 is more resistant, at least on the rivets of the handles.

Completely removable cover... It is removed by pulling it up. So, the multicooker can be used not only with the lid open, but also without the lid, for example, when frying. The lid can be easily washed if necessary.

Another feature of this model (just like the 3095) is valve... is he removable from the inside of the coverrather than outside.

And another pleasant surprise is steam basket... She double, collapsible... It can be used both as a steam basket and as a steam rack.

Signal melodic, pleasant, at the same time quite loud.

Some strong new multicooker has no odors... There was a very slight smell when the multicooker was first warmed up, but it disappeared very quickly. It is especially important that the steam basket does not differ in any odors at all.

Convenient turned out control Panel... Adjustment of temperature and time is possible both upwards and downwards, while there is still the possibility of circular scrolling. Control Panel sensory... The response is good.

Heating can disconnect before mode start or after it ends. Heating cannot be turned off during operation.

This model has 18 modes (8 more than 3095):

1. Rice / Cereals... Mode sensory... The program algorithm includes complete evaporation of liquid... At the end of the mode, no moisture remains. The default is 40 minutes. When boiling 1 cc of corn grits in 2 cc of water, the mode lasted about 50 minutes.

2. Porridge... In this mode, you can cook milk porridge, sauces. In this model, this mode really focused on milk porridge, unlike 3095, where this mode is quite active. I tested this regime on milk, it did not boil, but it bubbled slightly.

3. Pilaf... Mode sensory... The program algorithm includes light frying at the end of the mode... The default time is 35 minutes. But in my case (1.5 mst yards per 3 mst water) it lasted 1 hour.

4. Soup... The mode is soft. The algorithm includes boiling at the beginning of the mode, and a slight barely noticeable boiling during the mode operation.

5. Yoghurt / Kefir... The mode is intended for low-temperature sour milk. That is, it is better to ferment kefir, sour cream, etc. in this mode. The actual temperature in the mode is 36.6 ° C... In this mode, you can stand the yeast dough if you put a silicone mat on the bottom, and after 30 minutes turn off the mode, leaving the dough with the lid closed.

6. Eggs / Paste... The mode is intended for boiling eggs and pasta in water. The algorithm, according to the instructions, includes the boiling of the liquid, a sound signal, the start of the countdown (in this case, the lid must be opened). But in my copy, this mode fails and does not time out.

7. Omelet... This mode is for making an omelet. The omelet is tender with a slight blush at the bottom. In my case, the remyanet was uneven (the fact that the omelet was swollen in the center played a role in this). According to the instructions, the temperature is set to 120 ° C.

8. The drinks... The countdown in the mode starts after the liquid boils. Boiling is quite active, it lasts about 3-5 minutes, and then the temperature decreases. In 30 minutes, the temperature of 3 liters of water dropped to 91 ° C.

9. Pizza... This mode is suitable for yeast baked goods, in particular pizza. I have not tested this mode. According to the instructions, the temperature is at 130 ° C. Cooking time is limited to 60 minutes (from 10 minutes)

10. Jelly... The mode is intended for cooking jellied meat. The mode algorithm includes sound signal after liquid boils, however, the timing starts immediately. Boiling lasts 5-7 minutes, after that it cools down and reaches the temperature maintained further - 89.3 ° C... The cooking time can be set from 4 to 10 hours.

11. Bake... This mode is for baking. Although its temperature range is much wider than that required for baking. The temperature is regulated in the range of 40-160 ° C. If you bake at 120 ° C, it will bake longer, and the crust will be thin, if at 130 ° C it will be browned. Immediately after baking, it is better to remove the bowl from the body so as not to dry the baked goods - the bowl is thick-walled - it cools for a long time.

12. To warm... This mode is for warming up. I have not tested it. According to the instructions, the temperature in the mode is 85 ° C. Cooking time is limited to 60 minutes (from 5 minutes).

13. Stew / stew... This mode can be used for stewing vegetables and meat. We can say that this mode optimally balanced... It is configured to support light boil, such as on "low heat". In this case, the liquid does not boil away. The algorithm is based on the boiling of the liquid at the beginning of the mode (if, of course, it is in the bowl).

14. Fry... The mode is intended for frying and browning. The temperature in the mode, according to the instructions, ranges from 145 ° С to 160 ° С. Active mode. The meat is perfectly fried on it in 7 minutes on both sides. And if you fry in a non-stick bowl (HD3737 / 03), then you must be sure not to burn. Still, the mode is set for a thick-walled bowl. It does not burn in it, if you do not forget, of course.

15. Boil / steam... This mode sensory... Its algorithm includes notification when liquid starts to boil, from this moment the countdown begins. Boiling is active, possibly with the lid open. If you cook pasta in this mode, then it should be done with the lid open. This mode is also great for its intended purpose - for steaming food. Moreover, if you plan to cook for more than 30 minutes, then you need to pour at least 0.5 liters of water into the bowl. That is, 0.5 liters of water will be completely boiled away in 40 minutes.

16. Languish... The mode is intended for languishing. The actual temperature in the mode is 81 ° C ± 0.3 ° C.

17. Bake... This mode is for baking. The cooking time cannot be adjusted in this mode. It lasts 1 hour. The temperature in the mode according to the instructions is 130 ° С. I have not tested this mode.

18. Multicook... In this mode, not only the time is regulated, but also the temperature in the range from 40 ° С to 160 ° С... This mode has a fairly wide range of applications, depending on the selected temperature. For example, at 40 ° C yoghurt can be fermented (the actual temperature in the "Yogurt / Kefir" mode is 36.6 ° C). At 60 ° C and 70 ° C, you can cook meat using sous vide technology (only at 60 ° C (in fact 60.2 ° C ± 0.35 ° C) it is better to shave the meat in the future, and at 70 ° C (in fact - 71.4 ° С ± 0.4 ° С) it will be slightly drier). At 90 ° C, you can cook milk porridge without boiling, although the profile mode does this perfectly. The higher the declared heating temperature, the more the actual temperature deviates towards the excess: if at the declared 40 ° C the actual temperature was about 39 ° C, then at 90 ° C the actual temperature is already 92 ° C. The closest declared and actual temperature is at 60 ° C.

5. Warm up... This mode is designed to heat food up to 85 ° C. It lasts from 5 minutes to 1 hour. After this mode, automatic heating is also possible. Its temperature is stated as 72-77 ° C.

6. Steam... This mode sensory... Its algorithm includes notification when liquid starts to boil, from this moment the countdown begins. Boiling is active, possibly with the lid open. If you cook pasta in this mode, then it should be done with the lid open. In this mode, you can also cook frozen dumplings. This mode is also great for its intended purpose - for steaming food. Moreover, if you plan to cook for more than 30 minutes, then you need to pour at least 0.5 liters of water into the bowl.
Overall, I can say that HD3197 made a good impression. The multicooker is of excellent quality, the modes are balanced, the control panel is easy to use. I was glad that in this model debugged mode for boiling milk porridge - such a demanded regime in our culture. And what the regime for croup has become truly sensory and does not malfunction - the liquid does not leave at the end of the regime... And I was also pleased that plastic spoons were excluded from the complete set.

What would I add to the functionality of this model:
1. On the “Oven” mode, in the temperature range, mark 115 ° C - this temperature is good for delicate baking.
2. On the “Multipovar” mode, a mark of 30 ° C for proving yeast dough.

Well, one nuance of my copy is the incorrect operation of one mode - "Eggs / Pasta". By and large, it is compensated by the "Cook / Steam" mode, and I do not experience much loss. But it leaves a residue.

Despite this nuance multicooker HD3197 is very decent. Convenient and pleasant to use. I was very pleased.

Great review !!! And how much space does it take in the kitchen? for example compared to AF and a teapot? We do not sell multicooker, so I haven’t seen them yet, I can only order, But I’m afraid that she’s very huge! Please take a photo in the interior, I will be very grateful !!
Manna
Nata1500, I can take such a photo only after the holidays. It's like AF in width and 1.5 AF in depth. As high as a kettle.
