Pan fried jasmine rice

Ingredients

Jasmine rice, basmati 1 glass (200ml)
The water is cold 250-300ml
Butter 25-30gr
Salt taste

Cooking method

  • I have not boiled rice for a long time, only, so to speak, I fry it. The Russian wife of the owner of a small Turkish hotel told me about this method of cooking rice. You can take any rice, I like jasmine or basmati more. Any frying pan will do.
  • Soak rice in cold water for 15-30 minutes.
  • Pan fried jasmine rice
  • Then we transfer to a colander and rinse the rice well with cold water. Let the excess water drain, 2-3 minutes.

  • Heat butter in a frying pan.

  • We spread the rice and fry in oil for 1 minute, stirring constantly, so that the rice is saturated with oil.
  • Pan fried jasmine rice
  • Pour 250-300 ml of cold water into rice, bring to a boil, salt, reduce the gas to a minimum, cover with a lid and simmer until the water evaporates. I have 15-20 minutes. If the water has boiled away, and it seems to you that the rice is not ready, you can add water. Open the lid of the pan as rarely as possible during cooking (it is better not to open it at all).

Excellent rice turns out, I cook in about the same way, however, there are small ones! I'll try the method you suggested! :) Thank you!

Rada-dms, thanks, what's the difference?

anel, I do not soak, but immediately fry the rice in oil, then pour boiling water with salt and until evaporated. I won't expose the recipe in any way, it turns out well too.

When they gave me the recipe, they said that after soaking and rinsing with water, the sliminess of rice is removed, it turns out to be more crumbly.

Buckwheat is just as good to cook! Awesome turns out! With the smell of cream! Soaking is optional. The main thing is to rinse 4-5 times under running water, preferably filtered! I used to cook just like that, but then the mlta appeared and saved me! I throw cereals (rice, buckwheat) into the cartoon in exactly the same way, add oil and cover it a little with water and until ready to fry. The same thing.
