Cooking method

  • Foreword... To enhance the creative moment, I wanted to combine rhyme and prose, sculpture and dough modeling in this recipe, linking all these directions with one idea - "The Bremen Town Musicians". Before starting to cook, I decided to write such lines. I leave them to your judgment:
  • German language teachers -
  • The unforgettable brothers Grimm -
  • Captured a collection of children's fairy tales.
  • About Bremen musicians one of them.
  • And a bronze pyramid from now on
  • Decorated center of Bremen stands.
  • Donkey, dog, cat, rooster above them -
  • Their image sounds like a bronze note.
  • The plot of those fabulous creatures lives,
  • Sounds in his film adaptations.
  • Revealing the tradition of memories
  • Cut out their figures from the dough ...

  • 1. Mix softened butter, sugar, vanillin, protein. Add grated zest, toasted and chopped nuts, stir. Pour in baking powder and sifted flour, knead the dough. Slightly increased the amount of flour so that the edge does not "float". Send it to the refrigerator for half an hour.

  • 2. I didn't have ready-made molds, so I drew figures from cardboard. Approximate size (height x width) - donkey 7.5x8 cm, dog - 5x7.5 cm, cat - 7x7.5 cm, rooster - 6.5x6.5 cm.
  • 3. Lightly dust the board with flour, roll out a layer 2-3 mm thick, attach a cardboard silhouette, cut with a knife (it is convenient to take with a short blade). Put on a spread and greased sheet. From this amount of dough, 4 sets of 4 figures are obtained (total of 16 figures). Grease cookies with yolk mixed with milk.

  • 4. Bake at 1800From 8-10 min. You cannot overexpose - it will be tough or simply burn out!
  • 5. Mix the powdered sugar with lime (or lemon) juice. In the original recipe, the glaze is divided into 4 parts, in 3 of them add red, blue and yellow food coloring. Cover the cooled cookies, leave to dry for about 2 hours.
  • The taste of this cookie is not the same in different parts of the cookie - the body is soft, the legs are crunchy, the head is more acidic due to the glaze. The dominant flavor of all cookies is nut-lemon.

Note

Monuments to the Bremen Town Musicians
The monument to the Bremen Town Musicians, created by the sculptor Gerhard Marks and erected in 1951, stands in the center of Bremen and is a symbol of the city. The bronze sculpture represents the main characters of the story: a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster, standing on top of each other in the shape of a pyramid.
Based on this monument, the sculptor Christ Baumgartel made an original work, donated in 1990 to the city of Riga by its sister city Bremen.
The third version of the animal pyramid was installed in the German city of Zulpich.
Another sculpture stands in the city of Krasnoyarsk; the figures of singing musicians, equipped in the form of a fountain, depict the heroes of an animated Soviet film. Also, monuments to fairytale heroes are located in Sochi and Lipetsk.

Irochkadear, thanks! Cookies can be made in any shape. Better - figurines of your kids' favorite characters! They will definitely appreciate it! Although it takes time, of course, it takes much more than cutting out with tin molds ...
Thank you, Olga! I arranged a creative evening for myself yesterday! ...

Yutan, yes it turns out a lot! The cookies are thin! Thanks for attention!

I tried the recipe. I liked the dough even raw. I wanted to stamp the cookies with Nordic molds. But it didn't work out. The dough is so soft that it sticks to the stamps. We'll have to roll out and make figures. And I really liked it even when it was raw.

Yutan, sculpted yesterday with her little daughter. While she was putting them on a baking sheet, she began to eat raw cookies. Apparently she also liked it!
I'm looking forward to what happens! I ate on the second day - also delicious! Fragrant!
I wish you success!

Pulisyan, Alexandra, thank you for your prompt reply! I forgot to add. I put almond flour by weight instead of ground almonds. All the same, almonds are felt in the dough.
