My changes: I added a spoonful of sugar to the dough, since the apple was sour, sprinkled the apple with cinnamon and salt the dough.
According to the recipe, apple pieces need to be added directly to the dough, but we liked the option with the addition of apples on top of the dough poured into the mold - the waffles have a more aesthetic look, and there is no mishmash, in which there is a lot of filling in one place, and there is no other.
