Portuguese beef stew

Ingredients

Beef tenderloin 4 pieces 200 g each
Canned tomatoes in their own juice 400 g
Bulb onions 3 pcs.
Garlic (to taste) 1-3 teeth
Wine red vinegar (not used) 4st. l.
Sweet paprika 0.5h l.
Dry red wine 100 ml
Tomato paste 1h l.
Bay leaf 2 pcs.
Olive oil 2st. l.
Salt (not used) taste
Green onions for serving

Cooking method

  • In a bowl with a thick bottom, heat 1 tbsp. l. oils. Fry the meat on all sides until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  • Pour in the vinegar, the remaining oil and fry the finely chopped onion for 10-15 minutes.
  • Add finely chopped garlic. paprika, mix. simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour in wine, peeled tomatoes, tomato paste, bay leaf, salt if necessary. I didn't salt. Stir, bring to a boil.
  • Put the meat in a heat-resistant dish (gosyatnitsa), pour the sauce on top.
  • Cook in an oven preheated to 140C for 2 hours. I cooked in a slow cooker on AUTO for about 5 hours.
  • Sprinkle with chopped green onions when serving.
