Green chard cocktail

The use of chard for medical purposes was practiced by doctors in ancient Rome, in particular, they used it as an effective laxative.

Compared to beets, chard contains more vitamins, so its greens are recommended to be eaten to prevent spring vitamin deficiencies. Eating it in food contributes to the elimination of insoluble salts from the body, improves the functioning of the liver and cardiovascular system, stimulates the activity of the lymphatic system, increases the body's immunity and resistance to colds. Also, chard contains a lot of pectin substances, which makes the plant a valuable dietary product for patients with gastrointestinal diseases.

Chard is useful for insomnia, neurosis, obesity, anemia, diabetes mellitus, hepatitis, atherosclerosis, hypertension, kidney stones, cancer and radiation sickness.

Chard is effective in combating various inflammatory processes - boiled leaves are applied to abscesses and burns, and a compress of crushed leaves relieves eye inflammation. Chard juice is drunk for toothache and is used to remove warts and remove freckles. Chard root gruel is used as a baldness remedy.

I love Swiss chard and grow it every year at my dacha. It is very decorative, like flowers. I add young leaves to the salad, use the leaves for dolma, very tender, now the whole crop is fermented (leaves), and the stalks are cut into the freezer. And here is such a delicious cocktail, take note.

Irina, Thank you! I also want to plant next year. Do you have a special sort? Or you can take any, tell me.

I have never seen it on sale, but I really want to try it.

Tatyana, in our market they sell where all the greens are. There are also lemons, ginger, horseradish, etc. And the taste is so specific. But the cocktail is very tasty !!!!

I plant any, but I love the Scarlet variety, it is very decorative. The plant is completely unpretentious and will decorate any flower bed in the fall.Already tasted fermented, delicious. It can be added to the soup for sourness, or you can wrap minced meat in leaves and cook like dolma.
Omela
Irina, thanks, understood. Boom to grow.)
