Cooking method

  • Streuselkuchen is a traditional German sweet cake richly sprinkled with sand crumbs. Initially, it was made from yeast dough, but now there are options from both shortbread and biscuit. I prepared it according to the classic recipe of Silesian cuisine from yeast dough.
  • If you cook with dry yeast, you can simply load all the dough ingredients (except apples) into the HP bowl and turn on the "Dough" mode.
  • I did it with fresh yeast in a sponge way and got an excellent result.
  • For dough, we dilute yeast in 150 ml of warm milk, add 1 tbsp. l. sugar and 100 g of flour, stir well (I do it in HP on the "Pizza" program for 5 minutes, then turn it off). When the dough doubles (after 45-60 minutes), add the rest of the ingredients for the dough and knead the not very tight dough (I do it in HP on the "Pizza" program).
  • I have a mini-oven, so I divided this amount of dough into 2 - one part was subsequently baked in the oven, the other in the "Princess" pizza maker.
  • Let the dough rest for 30 minutes and distribute on a baking sheet or mold. Again, let it come up for another 30-40 minutes.
  • During this time, we make a crumb - a streusel, simply by grinding warm butter with sugar and gradually adding flour (I did this with a hand mixer). Grease the dough liberally with warm butter and make small indentations in it (you can use your little finger, you can use a stick), juice and oil will drain there.
  • Cut the apples into thin plates and sprinkle with a small amount of starch. We spread the apples with the starch side down on the dough, sprinkle generously with stusel on top.
  • We bake in the oven at 180 ° C for 35-40 minutes, in the "Princess" pizza maker for 18 minutes from a cold state.
  • We take it out, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and eat it lukewarm.
