Fragrant sun-dried thorn

Ingredients

Thorn
Orange peel
Vanilla sugar
Sugar
Cinnamon

Cooking method

  • We remove the well-ripe blackthorn from the branches, wash and dry well. Remove the bones and place them skin side down on the rack of the dryer. We put paper under the grate. Sprinkle with sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and rub any orange zest over the laid out thorns.
  • Dry at 65 degrees for at least 5-6 hours, then to a dry plastic state.

Note

On bezrybe and prunes!
We love the turn! And jam and sauces ala tkemali and compotes. It turned out very well and dried, just like sweet and sour sweets - for food and adding to pastries!

ABOUT! Thorn yummy
But, taking out the bones from it is not even from the cherry ... it's like taking out the bones from the rosehip
And therefore, I just cooked jam from thorns, with a low sugar content - I like the taste of thorns, it contains something from prunes and is a little tart
Rada-dms
Admin, I somehow separated well this year, with a thin knife zip and you're done, maybe because it's ripe well !?

Wild cat
Well, all the thorn jams have been cooked, and this year I am in flight.
Nobody loves him from his family. And nobody collected it for me!
Rada-dms
Wild cat, but for me, and for my family, it is almost tastier than cherries

Tanya, can you have a recipe or a reference for this yummy? My all are very fond of the turn. There is a lot of it in our area and soon it is already on the way for assembly. Last year I just dried it on a battery (I only dreamed of a dryer), and in the winter I cooked compotes. Now I want something else interesting and tasty. Thank you in advance.
SweetSveta
The recipe for the jam did not wait, I was afraid to take risks ... I overdried everything))) We will cook compotes in winter. This is also very healthy and tasty.

There was a question for me, it turns out I did not see it, sorry

Thank you very much for the compliment !!! But I think this is not my merit, but my dryer. She tried all night and day, and then another night ... I am so happy that I accidentally wandered into this site, looked at the recipes for a long time, silently envied, and then my husband gave me the coveted drying. Now I have a lot to boast about)))

Yes, we have a problem this year. According to the principle "what I don't eat, I'll bite and throw it away" - a cloud of live-eaters flew in and threw the half-eaten berries to the ground
I made some blackthorn jam, so the berries were defective, damaged, although I picked them from the bush
Trishka
SweetSveta, Svetlana, how did you dry the turner, right in its entirety?
And how long did it take?

And, more girls, this year someone made this magic jam, maybe we have a recipe here?
I got a Big Bucket here, now I'm racking my head, what to do with it

who made this magic jam

Ksyuwhat are you talking about magic do you interpret the jam?

I also need it, probably, I'm going with two buckets for the turn ...

I make from the turn blank for pies , per kilo of turnips - 250-300 gr. sugar, very tasty stuff ...

In general, you can cook so many all sorts of goodies from the turnip, just have time to turn ...

Every year I prepare thorny sauce in Georgian style, pickled thorns in a sauce with rye flour, the aforementioned "olives" in Russian, or you can preserve thorn berries fresh, they are stored wonderfully until the New Year, checked ...

Today I will try to wither the turner according to Olenka's recipe, I can imagine how delicious it is ...

Olenka, thank you tremendous for the recipe !!!
Crochet
Olenka, what if you dry it at a slightly lower temperature, degrees at 55?

I think it will work out well too, just a little longer in time) ...

I can't quite figure out when it is preferable to set a high temperature in the dryer, and when it is lower ...

And another question), and you didn’t turn the turn?

I don't remember where I read it, but somewhere it slipped that plums need to be turned upside down before drying) ...

and how did you dry the turner, right whole?
Dried straight whole. In compotes, it recovers very well and gives off color with taste perfectly.
Quote: Trishka
And how long did it take?
Honestly, I don't remember anymore, because a whole year has passed. I don't really follow the time, I dry it to the desired condition.

Is it for me? Oh, and I don't follow the topic!
And for the "with rye flour" thanks! But where can I find the recipe? Well, and how the oilmen got interested in Russian !!!
I am not twisting, I just laid the halves cut up.
I store it in vacuum bags.
I haven’t done my turn yet, we’re stuck in town. We have a lot of it, but small !!!! And it seems that it is 80% wormy already, although it has not matured to the end.
Crochet
Olenka, how delicious it is, mmmmmmm ... sweet and sour ... for tea - the very thing !!!

Without tea, for some comrades, so be it, I won't poke my finger at them, fits well too ...

Thank you so much for the recipe !!!

You are such a clever / cool girl that you shared this recipe with us !!!

By the way, I am also a darling who dried 10 pallets at once !!!

Fragrant sun-dried thorn

I will definitely make the turn according to your recipe again !!!

Little one, our little one, my darling !!! What a beautiful turn you have! And what a big one !!!
Balm on my restless heart - so glad that she approved my recipe !!! And 10 pallets without pits is a feat! Today I am also tuning in, however, I will not dissemble, I really count on my husband's help in this matter!
This year my sloe is small and sour, and half is not even ripe yet! I'm going to cook everything according to my mother's recipe, but I don't even know if it's worth messing around ?!
I have an idea here about its use, if it works out decently, I will share it!
