There is no thermometer in my refrigerator. The temperature is set manually with a wheel. Two wheels - for the freezer and the warm compartment. I decided to check the temperature in both chambers. I put five thermometers on one shelf in the warm compartment. The temperature is different on all thermometers. I bought two new thermometers. The difference is also two degrees. Teskomovsky thermometer for the refrigerator shows as much as -1 * C, another Iceberg shows + 1 * C. The liquid is not frozen, there is no ice. In general, during the day, the temperature ranges from + 1 * to + 8 * C. By the way, I got confused also because the thermometer from Teskomovskaya ham maker does not coincide with the readings of other thermometers. Now I doubt that when you cook ham, you need to observe the temperature regime there. I wonder who has the temperature set and then shows the temperature on the refrigerator door, how accurate are these readings?

So it should be different on different shelves Lift the instructions to the refrigerator, there it should be written.
The refrigerator has shelves for storing butter (top), meat (medium), vegetables (bottom), a separate zero chamber, and so on ...
I have it written in the instructions. And on different shelves there is a separate temperature - even if the cold mode is set by the engine.

I know that the temperature can be different on different shelves, I'm talking about one shelf)

Sorry, I read it inattentively

Tatyana, I want to define the leaven in the refrigerator, so I'm looking for a place with + 10 *. And thermometers give out all different temperatures. For leaven, after all, + 10 * + 12 * C is needed.
And with the ham, now I thought about the accuracy of the temperature.
selenа
It is necessary to put a glass of water in the refrigerator for a day, after this time, measure the temperature of the water. It seems to me that such a measurement will more accurately reflect reality, or in this way measure the temperature of the leaven that has stood in the refrigerator for a day. But this is my speculation, maybe there is a more accurate way.
GTI Tatiana
selenа, Thanks for the advice)))) I put water too) I measured it in one glass with two thermometers. The temperature was different. 4 * difference! Maybe there are no accurate thermometers at all?
vedmacck
I thought it was my paranoia, as I also noticed the difference. Thank gods, there are still Soviet thermometers. Here, just in case, I bought about 10 medical mercury (because of the same paranoia I don't trust electronic ones, but in "enlightened" Europe, it seems like mercury was banned).
GTI Tatiana
Tatyana, still some paranoia So I suffer.
Pakat
If my memory serves me correctly, then the error of thermometers before the revolution in Soviet times it was 3-5%. So 2-3 degrees is unimportant ...
vedmacck
The standard error of the measuring device (unless otherwise specified or the scale is non-linear) is half a division.
3-5% of what? If we take from absolute zero to zero centigrade, then 1% is 2.73 degrees. That is, following this logic, in the vicinity of the zero centigrade scale, we have an error from 8.19 to 13.65 degrees. That is, is the temperature from -4 C to +4 C for a thermometer the same and within the error?
In the vicinity of "room" temperatures - and even more from 8.82 degrees.
Even for household thermometers, this is overkill. AND in tsarist time in Soviet times, and now.
selenа
GTI Tatiana, you need a medical thermometer, which is used to measure the temperature of the water for bathing babies, every degree is important there, with an error of 4 degrees a child can be "welded",
GTI Tatiana
selenа, thank you, I didn't think about these. and which one is better to buy?
Pakat, but also not essential for sourdough and ham? I understand that this is important for the leaven. + 6 * or + 10 *.

agree.

selenа, with a thermometer for babies it is easier - there is nothing better than a mother's elbow. IMHO.
I'll tell you a case a year ago (maybe not in Temko, but I really want to share). They brought my daughter and grandson from the hospital. Evening, you need to bathe. The daughter poured a bath, measured the water - 37 degrees. I touch with my elbow - I say: "It's cold." She insisted that enough is written in clever books.
Lowers the child - he yells! Somehow I washed it. The next day - screaming again! On the third, he began to yell on the way to the bathroom. On the fourth, she gave up, obeyed her mother (me, that is). I set the thermometer to 39 (I checked it with my elbow - not hot). And again the grandson yelled on the way. She puts him in the bath. And then a one-week-old child lets out such a sigh of relief, like an adult: "Oh!" He froze with a blissful expression on his face. Since then I fell in love with swimming.
The question is (a rhetorical question, if that): why did we need this thermometer?
GTI Tatiana
I bought it for my daughter-in-law, I don't remember which company, she bathed the first-born with him at first, and I also checked with my elbow. Then she began to check with her elbow, and they bathed the second grandson, so they did not even remember about the thermometer.
But the thermometer can no longer be found
So, unfortunately, you can't measure everything with your elbow.
vedmacck
Well, yes, 82 degrees with ham making cannot be determined with an elbow or other part of the body
It seems to me that here you can find not household, but laboratory thermometers. It's good that you reminded me - I have such !!!
If necessary, I can find the link where I bought it (it was a long time ago, but I will try to remember).
GTI Tatiana
Tatyana, You also cook ham, in which ham maker? If in Tescom, it is very interesting to check this thermometer with your laboratory one. And of course I'm waiting for a reference, thanks
vedmacck
Namesake, 🔗
The site is a little inconvenient, it just takes a long time to understand, if not a specialist. We bought right in the store, it's convenient to go from the metro.
Prices at that time were optimal at retail in Moscow.

I made the ham at Tescom. Happened.
kil
GTI Tatiana, I put the ham maker in the Multicooker and set the temperature there on the multi-cooker, so my temperatures match exactly, if I set it to 74 degrees, then the thermometer from the ham maker shows 74. Cartoon Bork.
vedmacck
kil, I have a cartoon redmon-m90. There the multi-cook step is 5 degrees. And I don't trust her in that sense.
The gas stove kept the temperature much more precisely at the minimum comfort with the minimum flame.

It's great. So your thermometer is not lying and the multicooker thermometer too))))
Tatyana, thanks for the link) I have a Steba DD1 pressure cooker, in it I made ham using Belobok, but I put Teskomovskaya on a gas stove and was guided by a ham thermometer.
Tomorrow I will try Tekomu at Stebe, today it is still ripening in the refrigerator) Here I will compare the temperatures, it would be nice to lower the laboratory temperature there for the accuracy of the experiment.

To be precise, there is no temperature in nature at all.
This is just an invention of scientists and engineers, which, due to the ease of use, has taken root at the household level.
After all, even any kid will tell you - Temperature is when you are sick ...
vedmacck
Countryman, of course.
And the average kinetic energy of particles of a macroscopic system in a state of thermodynamic equilibrium can be called differently.
GTI Tatiana
Konstantin, maybe there is no it (temperature), but thanks to scientists for such an idea
vedmacck
If something is missing, then the amount of this is zero (for example, I do not have a Ferrari, that is, I have zero Ferrari, there is no happiness either, that is, "zero happiness"). There is no temperature - the temperature is 0. Brrr, superconductivity and superfluidity are observed around. Everything froze. A flower in a vase can be broken by lightly hitting it with a hammer. Like my frozen body
Sophistry, friends! She is so!
GTI Tatiana
I made ham in Teskom in SC Steba DD1, the result pleased. Thermometers showed almost the same temperature. +/- 1 * when opening the lid.
