Blackcurrant compote for the winter

Blackcurrant compote for the winter

Ingredients

Black currant 3 liters
Water 10 liters
Granulated sugar 2 Kg

Cooking method

  • Prepare containers for compote, sterilize (I do this in the microwave for lack of a dishwasher in the country) or wash thoroughly in the dishwasher. Wash the berries with boiled water and put them in a clean container. Boil water with sugar (I have a saucepan of 12 liters) and pour the berries with hot syrup, immediately close it tightly and put under a blanket (in warmth) until it cools down, that is, for almost 2 days. I store it in the basement, but in general this compote is kept at room temperature.

Thanks for the recipe!
Tell me, if you make from blueberries or blueberries, fill the jars completely, so that you can use them later for compote and for pies. Is it okay?

I just saw the question, because I do not receive messages on the soap about the answers in my topics.
I think if you fill it completely with berries, then you will need to pasteurize the jars in a saucepan with water, since there will not be a complete warming up to the desired temperature due to the small amount of boiling water-syrup.

Thank you!
I wanted it to be without sterilization
