Cooking method

  • There are a lot of honey cake recipes on the site, I have not seen this ... and to paraphrase Natasha's friend-natapit I will say "there are never too many honey cake", especially since they are all different.
  • Our teacher shared the recipe for this simple cake with us, grade 5 students, for which I am grateful ...
  • This is one of my favorite cakes, I still bake, what I like about it is the cooking time ... 40 minutes, well, a maximum of an hour and the cake is ready, try it.
  • Let's start.
  • We put a saucepan with water on the fire, we will combine the ingredients for the cream in a water bath, and while the water is warming up, we begin to prepare the dough.
  • Cakes:
  • In a bowl, grind honey with soda, if the honey thickens, like mine, heat it up a little and then mix it with soda

  • Then add sugar, butter (I always melt) and an egg, add flour and quickly knead the dough. It is not sticky.

  • Divide the dough into 5 pieces. We roll each one onto a sheet, I roll it out onto a Teflon mat and immediately cut it along the roof from the pan, the top can be sprinkled with flour a little then and the dough will not stick to the rolling pin, I collect the dough trimmings and as a result I get the 6th cake from them, and I bake scraps from the 6th cake immediately with it, they go to the crumb for decoration.

  • We mix sour cream with sugar, add butter and bring everything to homogeneity in a water bath, the sugar dissolves, the butter melts ... sometimes I just put it on the fire and bring it to a boil, but then, as a rule, the sour cream curls up, though the taste of the cake does not suffer from this niskole
  • We smear each cake with our cream (as it is loudly said), I do not wait until it cools down, this is such a stack

  • Cooking fondant for the top of the cake. Mix sugar with cocoa, kneading lumps, mix well with sour cream, put in a water bath, add a little butter, cook until tender. You can simply bring everything to a boil, but sour cream is different and some tends to curl up, this option is completely excluded when cooking in a water bath.

  • you can take melted chocolate or any of your favorite fondant and pour it over the top of the cake, sprinkle with the crumbs left over from the 6th cake.

Indeed - fast and very tasty. I made the dough strictly according to the recipe, and the cream was custard sour cream. Appreciated not only by my daughter, who in general adores honeymen since childhood, but also the grandson, for whom this is the first honey cake in life, asked for more!
The only thing is that I got six cakes from this amount of dough, but with a small diameter of 20 cm, that is, our big family can drink tea once in the evening. Next time I will do a double portion. After baking, the cakes are very tender and, if they are carelessly removed from the paper, they can easily break, so they removed them very carefully and using the largest round spatula that was found on the farm.

Well, we ate the cakes !!! I share. Made with curd-sour cream, with prunes and nuts. The custard is softer in consistency and my mistake was that I did not soak the cakes with any syrup.
